I know everyone talks about these, I know everyone knows about these, but I flipping love them and I want to share that love!
Also I was talking about them, in the comments of another post, the other day and the question of how wearable the shade ‘Permanent Taupe’ came up and I wanted to have a think about it, and post my swatches, to see if I could help.
I’ve got the shades ‘Permanent Taupe’, ‘On and on bronze’, ‘Pink Gold’ and ‘Endless Gold’. I’m also really jealous of those who have ‘Pomegranate Punk’ please please bring it to the uk Maybelline!
I’ve had the first two for quite a few weeks, now, but have only had the latter for about a week so haven’t been able to wear them so much but I do like them thus far. I think almost every post I’ve read or video I’ve watched have said that the bronze shade is their favourite and I’m not going to deviate from the norm, it’s definitely the nicewt texture, loveliest shade and easiest to wear; it’ll go with so many looks and can be subtle or bold. It was the taupe that originally made me want any of the colour tattoos, though.
|One, unblended layer|
‘Permanent Taupe’ is rather different from the other three that I have. It’s a different texture and is more matte than shimmer, it’s also a shade that you can’t just slap on and wear anytime, like the others are. I say that, but I have just worn it on it’s own, and it is really nice, but you have to blend it a little more and take a little more time with it. I do, really, like it though and I think I’ll wear it a lot. I also think it’ll make an amazing base, and will actually pair really nicely with the cooler, taupey, grey shades that I love from the MUA Undress me too palette (Honestly, not another plug for my favourite new palette, it’s just the shades I have that I think will go nicely)
|Softer, more blended|
I only did two simple sets, a normal layer and then blended a bit; that’s not to forget that they could be even more layered for a really dramatic look or blended even further to give only the slightest hint of colour. I think the second set, with them more blended, show the shade ‘Permanent Taupe’ in a slightly less daunting way? Let me know what you think.
