My new Dainty Doll Collection, first reactions

Before you start reading – A quick edit – If you want to see first reactions and colours in the pan then keep reading this page, but if you want swatches then please click HERE

I was so so excited when my Dainty Doll delivery from Fragrance Direct arrived today. Opening the box and actually seeing how many things I got for such a bargain was just so exciting; obviously I ordered them all so I knew what I was getting but there’s just something about actually seeing it all there, it looked like so much! So here are some photos, keep scrolling after the pics for some actual writing which explains my first reactions, so far.

My dainty doll collection

Eye Shadow in Treat her like a lady 002
Powder Blush in My Girl 002
Cream Blush in Billion Dollar Babies 003
Liquid Foundation  in 003 Medium
Dainty Doll Concealer in Abracadabra 003 medium
Mineral Powder Foundation 003 Medium
Concealer Pen in It’s a Kind of Magic 003
Mascara (part of duo) in black, Good Gosh 001
Eye liner (part of duo) in black, Good Gosh 001
Lipsticks in Storm in a teacup 008 and Baby Love 006
So… as this is a first reactions post, I should say what I think. I flipping LOVE these products. I mean I LOVE them a lot. The foundation went on so smoothly, blended in instantly and left my skin looking more even and like my Actual skin colour rather than a slight variation of it as that’s what all other foundations do. It didn’t cover all my redness but that’s what concealer’s for!
I used the powder blush which is such a lovely, soft pink colour with a gentle sheen, absolutely beautiful  The eye shadow, which I wasn’t that bothered about but ordered because it was £1.99, is actually just The colour I want, without even knowing it. I can’t describe it too well but it’s the softest, subtlest, palest taupe just leaving the lightest wash of colour, it’s just stunning.

The mascara is great, it’s just a mascara but it worked lovely, it lengthened a bit, added some volume and it’s kept a curl really nicely, plus it didn’t clump. I really like the lipstick in Storm in a teacup, it’s a lovely, dusky nude colour and on me it’s my lips but better, slightly nude. Utterly, utterly love it.

The under eye concealer didn’t seem to go too well to begin with. I was sat clicking the pen over and over and over and it seemed like nothing was coming out, but finally it did. I was very impressed with it. It blended in beautifully and my under eye circles were greatly reduced.

The only thing I’m not 100% sure on is the cream concealer, it just seemed a little too dark for me, which considering it’s a 003 medium, like the foundation, is a little surprising. But I am not ready to pass judgement yet, I managed to get it to work, but it didn’t wow me. That said, give me a little while to use it properly and we’ll see.

All of these are just reactions from first time use, once I’ve had a few more weeks to use them properly I’d like to review them better. I’ve managed to get some swatches but I’d like to take some more another time, they’re quite tricky to swatch as all of the colours are very soft and subtle, which is a big reason why they’re so good.

So, so far, so very very good. I can’t wait to carry on using these products and trying out the bits I’ve not tried yet.

I love the look of these products, especially the darkest lipstick (Storm in a Teacup?) I think I might have to look in to some Dainty Doll make-up! I don't own any yet.

I'm actually really impressed with them. Storm in a teacup doesn't come out dark, at all, it's barely there on my lips as I have quite a lot of colour in my lips naturally – But the bit of colour it does give I'm just in love with. So far it very much feels like the sort of brand to get a nice, really natural look with, the blush, although looking really pinky, made such a natural glow on the cheeks.

I definitely need to use these a lot and do lots of reviews.

I got my stuff for a gobsmacking £20ish on fragrance direct but they sold out in a day or two (it was pure fluke that I had insomnia and a 10% off fd code at 3am when they were all in stock). But I did some googling the other day and if the offer is still going there's money off the range at boots 🙂

Just checked and it's 1/3 off at Boots which actually makes them pretty good (14.50 for liquid foundation rather than 22.00 and 7 something for eyeshadow rather than 11.50) 🙂 xxx

Still can't quite believe how much of a good deal it was! So pleased that the stuff went back into stock for a while so loads of other people have been able to buy it now, I was so disappointed when I went to share the bargain and there was barely any left!

I wore the foundation and the cream blush, again, today, they're so so lovely! Need to try and get some swatches up =)
