I saw the message on FB yesterday, from Glossybox, saying that their boxes were due to go out soon and I was so excited – Didn’t expect mine to arrive today though!
So opening my front door and seeing it sat nicely in the porch was a rather lovely surprise! This months theme is ‘City Chic’ and the box is back to the standard colour I’ve seen in all the other unboxings I’ve seen – I actually love that shade of pink.
Soo what was in the box? Oh what indeed. I loved last months box but in comparison it seems like nothing, this months box is just amazing! (For me anyway, it’ll be an each to their own sort of thing).
I am absolutely loving lip crayons at the moment so this couldn’t be more perfect for me. Even the shade is perfect as I’d been wanting to get something that’s a nice red shade. I’ve heard of Jelly Pong Pong before but never come across them to try them or buy them so this’ll be a great chance to try out a new brand.
It applied really softly and smoothly in the swatch on my hand and I love the colour it left. I tried to rub it off almost straight away and it rubbed out quite easily But it did leave a stain which still hasn’t come off – I’m really interested in how this’ll translate onto the lips. The only thing I’m confused about is there doesn’t seem to be a shade name, but never mind, I like it whatever it is! This retails at £12 for the full size which I Think this is.
I’ve heard a lot about the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, so good, some not so good, so I’m really glad I’m getting the chance to give this a try. It’s 7ml sample of the fragrance free one and I believe it’s supposed to be something that lasts a long time as you don’t need to use much, so hopefully this sample will give me a chance to really know what it’s like. The full size of this would be 50ml and retails at £25.
I was stupidly excited to see a Nails Inc polish in the box. I got my first Nails Inc polish just earlier this week and I love it, the application, the shade and how long lasting it is. It’s a brand I’m not going to be able to afford very often so to get a miniature in here was a lovely surprise. This is the shade ‘St. James’ which is a lovely bright red – I have red nail polishes but I’m not sure I have quite this shade and even if I do, they won’t be as good a quality as this. Can’t wait to try this out. This is a 4ml bottle and the full size is 10ml which retails at £11.
I don’t really use hair spray much. I actually have a can of a different strength of Tres Semme, which I picked up last year after getting my hair done professionally, which I’ve never used. But I am really considering growing my hair a bit longer, and I have been having to mess around with it a lot more, recently, to get it to do what I want it to do so this will come in handy I’m sure. Maybe not the most exciting thing ever but I’m sure it’ll be of some use to almost everyone. This is a 100ml can and the full size is 500ml for £4.69 so easy to re-purchase if needs be.
Lastly is a wee sample of Juicy Couture ‘Couture La La’ perfume. I am quite limited in what I like for perfumes so it’s probably good for me that this is in here, give me a chance to broaden my horizons. I’ve not sprayed it yet as I’m still a bit coldy so it seems a little pointless until I can smell it better. Not the biggest or best sample ever but I look forward to seeing what it smells like and it’s always handy to have little samples incase you want to take a fragrance out with you. The full size of this is 100ml and is £63 at boots (I quite hope I don’t like it for that price!)
All in all I’m really happy with this. One full sized item which is pretty much perfect for me, and a nails inc miniature are just fab. All of the other things are nice samples to try out and the tres semme one is a pretty good size so should give a good idea of what it’s like. Value wise, just the lip crayon takes it over the value of the box, so I’m happy with that.
I look forward to trying all of these things out and am already looking forward to next months!
