As promised, here’s a post for the Latest in Beauty Editors Faves box. As I said in my previous post, about the CEW awards box, this box cost £7.95 with £3.95 p+p but as I got both the Editors faves and CEW box at the same time, I only paid one lot of p+p which makes this second box an absolute bargain.
Initially, I wasn’t going to buy it as two of the items in it are duplicates for things I got in my LIB advent calendar, but it was the fact that I didn’t have to pay the individual p+p costs for this that changed my mind, the extra products are well worth the £8 I paid and having the duplicates are fantastic, too, especially as one of them is the Balance me product which I really like.
As I said in the previous post, the LIB collections now come in these gorgeous boxes which just look so much more luxury and they’re really sturdy too – They’ve gone straight into my collection of empty beauty boxes to use as storage. I’m just not sure if I prefer the black or the white, though.
There’s seven items in the box (there’s actually two Espa products in the purple box) – Three really good sized samples, three smaller samples and then one perfume sample. For a box this size I think this is a great mix and just wait until I tell you the value of some of these!
First up we’ve got the Yardley ‘Polaire’ Eau de Toilette. I actually really like the card sleeve for this one, it’s got a vintage, deco sort of feel to it and it’s just quite pretty looking. I’ve not tried the fragrance, yet, as I had both of the other two from the previous box on both wrists when I had the products out. But, as always, nothing wrong with another sample to add to my collection – I really don’t mind getting these in beauty boxes as long as they’re amongst other good products and not replacing something better that others may have. The 50ml version of this is available for £19.99 in Boot.s
These are two products by Espa, their Lift&Firm intensive eye serum (3ml) and moisturiser (7ml) – This is one of the things that I already have, but then the way that I see it is that I can get an even better idea of how well these product work now that I have double the product to trial. I’m planning on starting going through my samples, soon, and making sure they get used up, so these will be used in the coming months. The eye serum comes in a 15ml pump at full size and costs £55 and the moisturiser comes in a 25ml pump for £38.
This is the second product that I already have and so have duplicates of. But I’m actually quite pleased to have a second one of this, I’ve only used it a couple of times but it is really, really nice. I like Balance me but won’t, often, be able to afford their full sized products so am glad to be able to enjoy them this way. This is a 10ml sample in a lovely roller ball, the full sized product is 30ml and sells for £30 (So, yes, this sample alone is worth £10 which is more than the box costs)
This is the Ancienne Ambiance Goddess Argan Hand and body wash. I’ve not tried this yet but I’m interested in the consistency of the product; when you slosh the bottle around you can see it’s thinner than a soap sort of product would be, but it’s thicker than an oil. The brand itself shouts luxury and I think this will be a great product to use. The 50ml sample is a really nice size, too, I think I’ll get lots of use out of it. The full size product is a massive 500ml bottle but their website doesn’t yet state a price as it’s only released this month, in May. But, judging from their website this isn’t a cheap valued sample.
This is the Dr Lipp ‘Nipple Balm for Lips’ – I know that this product seems so weird when most people heard about it, and it did for me when I heard about it a while ago, just the name is just so different. I’ve heard amazing things about this, though, and I’m utterly mad for lip balm products so I have really wanted to try this. I used it last night and it’s a really really thick, waxy product which you really massage into your lips and, wow, it makes them feel amazing. This is a 3ml sample and the full size is five times bigger at 15ml, it retails for £11.50 which is so much for a lip product but gosh do I wish I could justify it.
Lastly, we come to this little beauty. My first ever Neom product! This is their hand cream in ‘Inspiration’ which has violet, chamomile and cedar wood in it; this stuff is Luxury with a capitol L. My only worry is that I won’t use it because it’s too nice and I want to save it.. yes I’m one of those people. I’m going to try and make myself use it once my current hand cream has run out, though.
This is fantastic size sample at 50ml, the full size is only 25ml more at 75ml and retails at £20.
As always, I’m really happy with this box. The value of the samples is just wonderful, the range of products is great and the brands are exactly the sorts of things I want to try out. The amazing price of this box is a massive factor, too, it’s just an absolute bargain for what you get inside. Another winning collection, Latest in beauty!
