Soo… I’m sad to say that this is my last Glossybox =( There’s been some months where I’ve been a bit non-plussed but, as a whole, I’ve really enjoyed the boxes so I’m going to miss them! But, thank you Glossybox because this box is one of my favourite, ever boxes so it’s the best possible ending for me!
I liked last months box but it didn’t wow me – This months box is filled with brands I love, products I love, and I don’t see Any of them going into the ‘samples’ abyss, they’re all going to get used, and some of them already have!
So let’s get going:
And here’s my, obligatory, look away if you don’t want to see the contents, photo. I don’t want to ruin this for anyone who’s clicked by accident or just those who see the thumbnail for this post. But here’s the theme, it’s ‘Summer Looks’ – I didn’t feel that the contents were Overly summery but then I don’t really mind that, the themes aren’t of massive importance and I Love the contents!
And here’s what I got – Some hair care, hand cream, nail polish, mascara and a lip balm – Majority beauty and some nice body care too – Perfect! (though I know plenty will still complain, some are never happy)
First up we’ve got Organic Surge’s ‘Volume Boost conditioner’ – I don’t Neeeed a new conditioner, but it’ll save me buying one when my current one runs out! I really am falling in love with Organic surge, I’ve had an amazing experience with them, direct, and now they’ve appeared in Two beauty boxes for me (you’ll see me beauteco box tomorrow!) and I just can’t get enough of them. I’d not likely have ordered hair care myself, but now that I’ve got it I’m more than happy to give it a go – If it’s as good as their other products it’ll be a joy to us. This is a, massive, 200ml full sized item and retails for £5.99 on their website.
I was soo pleased to see this! I LOVE Mememe nail polishes – I have 8 or 9 of them and actually have a nail wheel painted up to upload to show you swatches; I guess I’ll need to add this one in before I post it now. I don’t know that I’d have chosen gold as a first choice but I think this is a gorgeous colour, it’s not a bright shiny gold but more dark and dirty gold – I think it’ll look gorgeous on, on both dark and pale skin (I’ll probably be putting it on tonight!) – Mememe polishes are a dream to apply and they last nicely. They retail for £5 for a full sized product (which this is), though they’re often on offer. I’ve started to notice Mememe getting mentioned, more often, by bloggers recently and I am so so happy about this, I utterly love them as a brand.
I already own a Figs and Rouge balm which I’m not totally in love with, but it’s the type in the tin and I’d pondered over getting one of the ones in a tube to see if there was a big difference. I Love this. It’s soo thick that it’s hard to get out of the tube but it smells delicious (not too strong of Cherry, just a little, very sweet and nice), it’s got a nice tint of red to it and it’s just soo nice on the lips. I’m so glad I got this and I think this will, definitely, become a staple lip product for me. This is, also, a full size and retails at £5.
I’ve not got anything by Monu Spa so it’s nice to get something from them in the box. This is their hand and nail cream and it’s chock full of good ingredients. I’ve not taken the foil seal off it, even though I’d love to tell you the scent I don’t want to open it fully because I want to save it until I’ve used up some other hand creams. The ingredient list suggests it’s going to be a rather lovely, luxury product, though, and I do love me a good hand cream – I get incredibly dry hands due to a type of eczema that I get and it’s so soothing to put a nice hand cream on. This is a full size at 50ml and retails for £10.50.
And, lastly, a mascara by Gosh. I’ve only ever used Gosh eyeliners before so am definitely interested in trying out some more of their products. I don’t have a Massive need for mascaras but this is nicely sealed up so it can stay ready for when I do need a new one. I’m very interested by the claims that this makes, being a ‘Growth mascara’; I have really long lashes anyway so I’d be amazed if it could make them any longer! From the photo in the leaflet this has a very slim, plastic wand which I didn’t used to like but have come to quite enjoy recently. I don’t have an imminent need for this product but I Will need it at some point and am definitely glad to add it to my list of mascaras to try out. This is, also, full sized and retails for £8.49.
I am, utterly, thrilled by the fact that I got All full sized products this month and they’re all things I will get a Lot of use out of. The brands aren’t as luxury as some might expect but, to be honest, I prefer more usable, re-purchasable products and if boxes always had products of this type in it then I’d be constantly happy.
The booklet that comes with the box is riddled with spelling mistakes and things left out, which is quite surprising, but I guess these things do happen.
All in all, totally happy with this box and gutted that it’s going to be my last one. I’m going to miss the excitement of the box arriving, opening it up and then sharing with you all what I find inside. Maybe one day I’ll be able to subscribe again but, for now, this is the perfect last box!
