July 2013 Favourites

I actually had everything ready to get my July favourites done in time, maybe at the end of July or, at least, at the very beginning of August but it turns out that that was just not meant to be. After my accident last week blogging had to go on hold and, so, my favourites post is late, as per usual.

This month has been a pretty simple beauty month for me. I’ve been going for low key, subtle, softer looks with sheer colour and light coverage. Most of my favourites are obvious ones, still my Maybelline Dream Pure bb cream, some nice neutral eye shadow looks and some basic brown liner and mascara. But these are the other things I’ve been loving this month.

I’ve really enjoyed my Elf Maximum coverage concealer this month; I’ve used my bb cream for a nice base and then used the concealer to just deal with some of the more prominent blemishes and under eye circles.
My Soap and glory Glow all out powder was featured a few months ago in a favourites post but it needed a mention again for July as it has been an utter go-to product for me. I’ve not been wearing a lot of blusher, I’ve been wearing this instead for a soft, light flush of colour and a sheen of healthy glow.
The Art Deco eye shadow base which I got in July’s Beauteco Box is something I’ve reached for almost daily since I got it. I really like the more solid formula that this sort of base gives and it’s got great staying power.

I’ve been really enjoying the Anatomicals face mist which I got in my July Glossybox this month. It’s no dupe for the Caudalie beauty elixir but as an affordable and refreshing facial spritz I’ve been really enjoying it during our hottest days.

My Soap and Glory Scrub your nose in it has been lovely and refreshing this month, too. I use it a couple of times a week during my morning skincare routine and I leave it on as a mask whilst I’m brushing my teeth. I love this as a scrub and a mask for what it does for my skin as well as for its refreshing nature.

Body care wise, this month, I’ve been enjoying a much loved favourite. This bottle of Soap and Glory’s Clean on Me is about three quarters empty so it’s not a new favourite in any means. I’ve loved it, especially, during July though because the scent is so sweet and summery and, also, it’s the scent I always love to come back to when I’ve been trying lots of other things out.

Lips have been a real focus for me, this month. I’ve been really enjoying nourishing products and opted for only a hint of colour. I am so so pleased to have, finally, got my hands on Nuxe’s Reve de Miel and I’ve been loving how wonderfully soft and hydrated my lips have been thanks to this.

I’ve also been wearing my Body Shop Born lippy balms in the shades pink berry and toffee as well as my NYC appleicious balm in blueberry pie. All of these products add moisture as well as a soft hint of colour.

Lastly, I’ve been enjoying Elf’s liquid lipstick in strawberry. This sheer, glossy product has been something I’ve really enjoyed this month, too. The raspberry shade I got in the same haul is remarkably similar so is being saved for a later give-away.

If you saw my Escentual haul you’ll not be surprised to see that the Real Techniques eye set are in here (The haul may have been posted towards the end of the month but I had the products at least a week before the post went up so had plenty of use of both these and the reve de miel). I’ve used all of these brushes at various times this month but loved the base shadow brush and the big contouring brush the most.
Azii and I have watched a Lot of dvds this month but these are the ones we watched from beginning to end. Very very different types of comedy but both  hilarious in their own ways. Utterly love the family in Outnumbered and it may be mean to laugh at Karl Pilkington but very very hard not to!

I wasn't too fond of the clean on me scent – it was too 'perfumey for me'. And I really want to get the real techniques eye brushes!
