My #EssentialBeauty wishlist win from Beauty Bay

In all honesty I couldn’t believe it when I popped on to twitter and saw this:

The shock was massive. I have won competitions before and they’ve been fantastic and I’ve been so so pleased but this one was to win my entire wishlist from Beauty Bay up to the value of £350! After my accident a few weeks ago I’ve definitely needed cheering up and this definitely helps towards that! (Along with the love and support of my friends and family, of course!)
The lovely team were so amazing and managed to get my package of goodies sent out That day and they arrived the very next morning, much to my surprise! Opening the package was like two years worth of Christmas and Birthdays come at once, I just couldn’t believe how lucky I’d been.I thought I’d do a first post just showing you all what I got and then I’m going to do some swatch posts of various items throughout the next couple of weeks. And reviews will happen in the future, as and when I’ve used things for long enough etc.

So here goes!
I tried to get a mix of skin care and make-up along with some hair care, lip care, nail polish and an extra little luxury in the shape of my first ever Neom candle.
Here’s the skin care that I got:

Alpha H – Balancing and pore refining mask
Alpha H – Liquid gold
RMK – Green Tea herb mist
Jurlique – Intense recovery mask
Sophyto – PH optimizing restorative toner
Nail polishes:

Nails Inc – Sprinkles in ‘Pudding Lane’
Essie – Summer 2013 mini collection
The palettes I got:

Stila – In the light palette
Too Faced – The Secret to No makeup makeup palette
Too Faced – Matte Eyeshadow collection
Lip products:

Dr Lipp – Original Nipple balm for lips
Sara Happ – Brown Sugar lip scrub
Yes to Carrots – Color balm in ‘Rosy Bloom’
Urban Decay – Super-Saturated High gloss lip colour in ‘Naked’
Pixi – Tinted Brilliance Balm in ‘Craving Coral’
Eye products:

Art Deco – Tribal Baked Eyeshadow in ’18 Marbled Brown’
Urban Decay – 24/7 Glide on Shadow pencil in ‘Sin’
Last two bits –
Macademia Natural Oil – Deep Repair mask
Neom – Candle in ‘Tranquility’
Soo, yes, just a few little bits and bobs (yes, sarcasm) – I managed to get things from brands that I’ve never tried before that I’ve really, really wanted to try. This is just the most amazing win for me and I’m so grateful to BeautyBay for running the competition because I am just over the moon with the things that I’ve won!

The competition is running for another three weeks, I believe, so it’s worth checking out!
Good luck to everyone else who enters.

    Thanks everyone!

And, yup, very right there Katie, I'm taking it slowly so I can stretch the fun out hehe

Lol Kate, it's alright, I've been full of envy over your wins, too hehe xx

What a fantastic win! There are so many gorgeous things on that site I don't know how you managed to stick to £350! I'm lucky, but I'm never that lucky.

Heh, see that's the thing, I'm not lucky, not normally. It can happen for any of us 😀 Worth entering to be in with a chance 🙂

I've got my entry in (and down to £350!) I've not had a win in a while (I always enter competitions on sites I use, especially as I have so much free time at the moment) this would be amazing win but I'll put it to the back of my mind to avoid disappointment!

I always tell my partner the reason why my Amazon wishlist is so huge is because they might start a "Win everything on your wishlist" comp! Although they could just offer me a house to save themselves some money!

Haha difficult to keep it down to 350 isn't it! Good luck, though!

Heh sounds like as good a reason as any! That or some generous millionaire might decide to start buying people their wishlists (that's my plan if I won a big lottery win hehe)

I wasn't one of the lucky ones, my dream has been shattered! I can't complain, I did win a ton of stuff whilst in hospital and just before, oh and something after. I really can't complain!

That would be a brilliant thing to do. Just picking something for someone at random, although it might scare some people. Saying that they wouldn't have their wishlist public. I'm really putting too much thought into this.

      Aww sorry that sucks.

Sounds like you've won plenty of other things recently, though, so that's good!

Haha yeah little too overthought. I was thinking I'd probably run it as a competition or something or maybe just get in touch with people who write wish list posts or something haha – I'd find a way! I'd love to help people out if I was lucky enough to win the lottery 🙂

I do tell myself to stop being greedy, I'm still around which is the main thing.

It would also be awesome to be able to introduce yourself as a philanthropist at the swish cocktail parties all millionaires get to attend! The sort of parties that have goody bags! My imagination is running wild now.

    • admin September 3, 2013 / 11:22 pm

Nah it's natural to want to win more things. Indeed it is!

Haha yes I hadn't thought of that. Though if I was a millionaire I'd still want to live a similar life just with less stress and a home for my family

I know what you mean, I wouldn't be that different I would just have a home and the chance to have kids, I also think I would aim to have a sanctuary for unloved animals, those that need extra looking after because of health problems.

I've never been that bothered by designer clothes, I do like the odd beauty treat but even then I wouldn't go too overboard, just a little at first. I would just end up with more second hand goods, travelling round the country visiting charity shops and car boot sales!

The £2.70 I won on euromillions last night won't quite cover this.

    • admin September 4, 2013 / 11:07 am

Nope, not quite, though could buy you the winning ticket next time!

Those are nice ideas. If we won we'd be able to afford to have another child which would be amazing seeing as my fiance and I don't actually have a child together – My son and his daughter are from past relationships.

See designer clothes aren't my thing but I'd Definitely splurdge on high end make-up and skincare… a lot, lol

It has already gone on next Tuesdays ticket!

My partner and I are living at my parents so winning the lottery would mean a lot, our own home (I would also grow veg, fruit, herbs) and start having kids. We aren't relying on it but it would be a nice way to kick start that part of our life. Hopefully you'll be able to have a child with your fiance at some point in the future, even without the lottery win!

I do see some bits and think they're okay but I would never buy something just because it is designer. I think this just means we have more style.

Similar for us. My fiance, my son and I live with my parents too and he has to go back to his Mums in Redditch for the weekends that he has his daughter which means the four of us Rarely get time together even though we want to. Yeah, it's my health as well as finances, whereas if we had lots of money it'd be easier to take the risk – That said, if you want to enough you find a way to make it work 🙂

Haha yes most definitely. I'm a big fan of just getting bits and bobs of whatever I like regardless of where it's from. Admittedly most of it is from primark because that's all I normally afford (I splurged on new look the other day, seemed soo expensive in comparison lol!)
