First things first, wow. I normally just describe things a little before I let you know my thoughts on a box but this month I’m starting with ‘wow’ – honestly amazed by this months box.
I think a Lot of people will be Very happy with this months box, so without teasing you any more, here’s what we have!
Your eyes do not deceive you – You Do see Laura Mercier in there!
Let’s just get the biggest wow up here first. I could not believe it when I saw that there was a Laura Mercier product in here and, not only that, but a Laura Mercier product that I Really want to try. This is the Tinted Moisturizer with spf 20 and it’s in the shade ‘Nude’ (it’s not the palest shade but shouldn’t be too dark). What can I say other than woo! This is a 14.7ml tube which I think is a great sized sample and I cannot wait to try it out. The full size of this is 40ml and retails for £33.
Another exciting brand and another really decent sized sample is this KMS California ‘Curl Up – Wave Foam’ – This is a 75ml can whereas a full size is 200ml which retails between around £13 and £15. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to use this much whilst my hair is so short but once it’s grown out a bit I am looking forward to trying it when I’m going for a more tousled look.
One of this months two lifestyle extras is this ‘Recalcifying & Whitening toothpaste’ by UltraDex. I’m not someone who tries out many different toothpastes so this will be interesting to try and I am liking the idea of something that’s supposed to help sensitive teeth. This 15ml sample should give a decent idea of what sort of a job this does and the full sized version is 75ml and can be bought for £8.15.
The second lifestyle extra is this Egyptian Magic ‘All purpose skin cream’ which we have three 3ml sachets of. The directions recommend rubbing it in your hands until it becomes an oil and then you apply to the face which sounds really interesting. The sachets feel like they have a decent amount of product in so I expect to get a couple of uses from each of them. A full sized tub of this holds 118ml and retails for £34.90.
I was rather pleased to see another product from theBalm this month and this is the ‘Stainiac’ lip and cheek stain in the shade ‘Beauty Queen’. It’s not dissimilar from the Mememe product I got in this months Glossybox but this is more of a gel formula which I think may be a little easier to use than a liquid. I have a few products similar to this but I’m interesting to see what theBalm’s version is like. It’s a nice little 1.2ml sample which should last quite well due to the nature of the product. A full sized version is around 8ml and costs £10.
This little tub holds Akane’s ‘Mask Cocoon Nocturne’ which is an overnight face mask. I’ve been interested in trying an all night face mask but haven’t picked one up yet so this’ll be a nice way to give one a go. It’s 12ml tub which will, I think, give a couple of uses and it smells soo nice – It’s appley but not too strong. The full size of this sells for £18.
Lastly another sample of Dr Lipp’s Nipple Balm for Lips. I really don’t need another sample of this but I do think it’s a good thing to get in beauty boxes and I will use it. It’s something that not everyone would automatically buy themselves and I think it’s a pretty good product so I think plenty of people will enjoy trying this out – It’ll get added to my collection of tubes to get used as and when it’s needed. A very intensive balm for the lips or dry patches this sample is a cute little 3ml tube – The full size is around £11 for 15ml.
I really like the new little set of cards included with the box, too. I have always flipped through the magazines but I much prefer this format and the opportunity to pop on to the website to get more information if necessary.
All in all this is probably one of my favourite Birchboxes yet – I love the variety of brands and product types, the sample sizes are fantastic and the amount of samples is just amazing. I really feel like I’m getting so much from this box and I really do look forward to trying everything out.
