A couple of months ago when I read about the L’Occitane/Instyle event I was rather interested to see if I’d be able to get to one of the venues. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that it was even happening in my local L’Occitane store in Cheltenham! (Nothing normally happens in Chelt haha) – For a ticket costing £10 you can attend an evening event where the store is opened up for a couple of hours, you can browse the products, there’s a reduction on everything you buy, free bubbly, some snacks, the chance for a facial and/or a hand treatment and a goody bag of fab products worth £50!
The event had actually been delayed by a couple of weeks so I didn’t attend until Tuesday last week (24th Sept rather than 11th) – Unfortunately I had been battling a headache all day so wasn’t feeling at my best but I wasn’t going to let that stop me from going.
Clearly the glass of bubbly wasn’t the best idea but ooh it was tasty and I enjoyed it at the time!
I was there alone which, as anyone who knows me who is reading this knows, is very unlike me. I’m not good at going to new places, I’m Definitely not good at going to new places on my own but I just decided I wasn’t going to let that stop me, the other people going would be there for similar reasons as me And I wanted to write about it on my blog! The evening was Lovely. It was Far too warm so most of us ended up fanning ourselves with leaflets but it was really nice; I managed to talk to a good few people and everyone was so friendly, including the staff.
I would have loved a facial but I had make-up on so it didn’t really work out that way – Just look at that selection of lovely products though! The queue for getting facials was pretty long, though, and everyone was saying how much they enjoyed it so I think it would be well worth going there without make-up on in order to enjoy it.
These are the hands of the lovely Louise. Her and her friend (Whose name I didn’t actually get, sorry!) were two people who I talked to quite a bit on the evening – Louise should, actually, be married by now as she said her wedding was a week away! (Congratulations!)I had my hands done, too, it was really really nice. A gentle, exfoliating hand scrub, something else in the middle (I think! I was distracted as the member of staff that was doing it, and I, were talking about Star Trek and Doctor Who!) and then the Shea hand cream – My hands felt fantastic afterwards and even did the next day. Some of my dry eczema patches disappeared and my hands were soooo soft!
I really did have the nicest time. By the time I’d been there about an hour my headache was winning the battle so I had to make my way home but I am so glad that I went. I met some lovely people, got to experience some great products and found out just how lovely the staff at my local L’Occitane store are!Oh and don’t forget the gift bag!
I also bought one of the £8 shea hand creams for a little over £6 with the discount so now I have Lots of lovely hand cream! In all honesty I’d recommend going along to one of these evenings if you get the chance – from what I know they are run a couple of times a year and it’s not Just in big towns or cities, it’s in smaller places too!
The cost of the ticket is pretty small when you consider the experience you have, the chance to enjoy yourself so much, the discount on any products you want to buy and then the items included in the goody bag (expect to see these products featured in my blog plenty more in the future!)
I felt a bit self conscious taking photos which is why there aren’t many and I didn’t actually include people in them. But that’s me, and I’m silly, no one minded me taking pictures at all and, as I’ve said countless times, everyone was So nice!
