Urban Decay's Shattered Face Case - First impressions and swatches

So, imagine the feeling you get when you're sorting through a drawer in your bedside table and you remember you had a place you used to keep money before you put it in the bank. And imagine you decided to check that it was definitely empty, as there was various places the money could have been, and it turns out that there was £25 left there from Christmas 2012! Just imagine how exciting that was!

This was during the weekend that a lot of shops had sales due to the 'Black Friday' phenomenon so I did a bit of browsing but the decision was quite clear when I discovered a 20% off code at lookfantastic and I realised that the Urban Decay 'Shattered Face Case' would only be £24 with that 20% off!

Even the box is gorgeous, as I'd expect with Urban Decay, really.

It's nice to have all of the names on the back, though it's a shame they're not on the actual case itself.

And just look at that! I think I managed to get it at a decent enough angle so that it didn't reflect too badly but... just how pretty?!

The first layer has five eye shadows and a miniature 24/7 glide-on pencil plus it's one of the two ways to access the super saturated gloss pencil.

L-R the shades are: 'Shakedown', 'Remix', 'Nameless', 'Minor Sin' and 'Bleach'.
The eye pencil is in 'Zero' and the Super Saturated gloss is in 'Lovechild'.

The second layer holds two blushes and a highlighter as well as being the second place you can access the lip crayon.

The blush shades are 'Overexposed' and 'Temper' and the highlight is called 'Glint'.

And quick swatches of the pencil products - 'Zero' and 'Lovechild' which are both really easy to apply; creamy and pigmented in their own different ways.

And here they are swatched in the same order as in the palette - I actually love all of them. Colours as dark as 'Shakedown' are normally a bit too much for me but because this has a hint of warmth I find it quite wearable. The other four are just all beautiful, exactly the sorts of shades I love. Even 'Bleach' is a great shade, so very pigmented for such a pale, matte shade.

Just the same shades, again, at a different angle so that you can see how they look in a slightly different light.

Added this one in because the top two shots are great for all of the colours but 'Minor Sin' didn't show up so well, it really does have a nice warm hint of pink to it that shows better in this photo. I really do love them all.

And on to the blushes and highlighter - 'Overexposed' is much more of a 'me' shade and I really do love it but I do think I'll get plenty of use out of 'Temper' too as it's a nice shade for a lighter, slightly brighter pink.

And 'Glint', just Look at that stunning highlight shade! I just love a good highlighter and that really is one!

All in all? I love it, so so much. It was everything I hoped it would be. It, totally, lived up to my expectations and the quality of each element of it from the packaging, to the case, to each and every product is just fantastic. I've used this a few times already and look forward to using it again lots and lots of time. Even if I'd paid the full £30 for this I'd have thought it was great value considering the lip crayon alone is worth £14! But with my money off this was just one of the best bargains I've had in a long time! SO happy with it.
