I’ll let you try to imagine the shock I had when an email from the PR team at Ojon, inviting me to a private dinner – Little old me, not even been to an event yet, and only been blogging a year, getting invited somewhere by a brand like Ojon. Rather shocked and a good deal of excited mixed with a dose of ‘eeeek’. It’s been a long while since I last travelled to London but, I think you’d all agree, well worth doing so for an opportunity like this.
Thankfully it was well worth the journey and I had a fantastic time meeting some amazing bloggers and the lovely ladies who work for Ojon we shared a phenomenal meal and learned about some really interesting things which Ojon will be doing this year. I am so glad that I went and so grateful that I was invited.
The beautiful decoration on the table in the private dining room we were lucky to have at Berner’s Tavern – With the plants and the products dotted around it looked like something out of a magazine, gorgeous! (sorry, my photos from the night were only taken on my phone as I managed to forget my camera, bleh)
My place setting. I was lucky enough to be sat next to Bettina at Beauty Swot
and we were across from Jane from British Beauty Blogger
and Ruth from A Model Recommends
– They were all fantastic company, thank you all for making me feel so welcome even though I’m such a newbie; great conversation and some real laughs.
Unfortunately I didn’t get to talk to Rose from Mixed Gems
much but was lovely to say hello to her and I didn’t get a chance to meet Ellie from Ellie’s Ramblings
, Amelia from Liana Beauty
and Sarah and Andrea from Peanutbuttered
, other than some really brief introductions, but the atmosphere throughout the evening was great and everyone had a lovely time.
My alcohol free cocktail from the delicious bespoke list we were lucky to be able to chose from.
Pork and pistachio pate with toasted sour dough – SO good.
Duck, braised duck leg, caramel apples, plum puree and turnip – Honestly, one of the nicest things I’ve ever eaten.
An eclair with apple and cream, calvados jelly and salted caramel icecream.
Again, one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.
Sally and Brona, from Ojon’s PR team, did an absolutely amazing job setting everything up and I’m really glad to have met them, and everyone else that I did, they were also incredibly generous in the goodie-bag that they gave us – I’m going to show you what I received as I’d like to know which of the products you’d like me to review first.
I think you can see the names of everything in the photo so please do let me know if there’s anything in particular that you’d like me to review first (I’ve tried the oil already and am in love after one use!)
And, as if that wasn’t enough we were each given a stunning bracelet, I wanted to show you this as I wanted to share the meaning of the symbol on it with you.
Don’t you think that’s just such a lovely little passage? It makes me feel really happy, and really inspired and motivated.
I’ve linked this post up with the ‘All About you – Link and Pin party’ as this is the most ‘me time’ I’ve had in a long time!
