Glossybox is a bit later than normal, this month, and I, unfortunately, got it later than a lot of others – I did, though, manage to avoid spoilers, yay! I did, though, know to expect a little bit of a make-over for the boxes.
The boxes are now soo much harder to photograph because they’re actually glossy now! But they look really nice, and they feel nice too when you’re opening them – Nothing too massive, changes wise, but just enough that the improvement is noticed.
You might notice the rather nice looking branded ribbon, too – Admittedly, does mean it can’t be reused for other things but it’s pretty anyway! And, as you can see, this months theme is ‘Back to Basics’ – good idea for this time of year.
A, nice, little added extra in the shape of a mini bar of Green & Blacks dark chocolate, I don’t like dark chocolate but could chuck it in with some baking in the future.
Always, always happy to see some Balance Me in a box and I’ve never tried this ‘Super Toning Body Wash’ before. It smells really rather lovely which, I assume, comes from the mix of juniper, bergamot, geranium and lavender essential oils. Who doesn’t need a nice new body wash?! This is a 50ml sample, the 250ml full sized bottle retails at £10.25 which gives this sample a value of £2.05.
Another brand I’ve tried, and liked, already, The Vintage Cosmetics company – I have some of their eye lash curlers, an eye shadow brush and their pink tweezers. I do have to say, though, that I had kinda hoped that my pink tweezers were going to be the floral ones so I’m not unhappy to get these in the box (ok so a pretty design doesn’t matter much but they’re good tweezers so a second pair won’t go amiss) – These retail at £8.
Never going to mind finding some Montagne Jeunesse in a box, yet another brand I’ve tried and enjoyed in the past. The fact that one of them is a ‘blemish mud’ can’t be a bad thing, either with my daft skin. Very much looking forward to using these – These cost £1.09 each making this sample worth £2.18.
The penultimate item is from, you guessed it, yet another brand that I know and like! I’ve tried a variety of products by Anatomicals before but not this particular one. These ‘Puffy the eye bag slayer’ patches (other than having the best name ever) seem like they’re going to be great fun to try – I’ve not tried any of these under eye patches before, so looking forward to it. These retail at £6 for 3 sachets and we get 2 in our pack making this sample worth £4
I’ve not tried this Yu-Be
cream before, but I have got a tube in my samples collection from a box in the past. I’ve heard good things about it so I’m quite happy to have two more of these as it means I’ll have a much better chance at knowing how much I like it – The tubes are 3g each and the full size is 33g, retailing for £13.50. That means that these two little tubes are worth £2.45
I wasn’t sure what to make of this box, to begin with, but I’ve decided that I really like it now – All of the items are really, very usable, and they all fit really nicely with the theme of back to basics; moisturise, cleanse, pluck and tone your way to a much better base and a good start to the new year, or something along those lines anyway!
The box is worth £18.68 – Definitely covers the cost of of the box and a good chance for a pamper session. Very happy.
