I was making a Boots order for essentials, nappies, baby wipes and the likes and I was a little under £10 from the free p+p threshold – It’s times like these when it just seems like the right thing to do to make a sneaky little purchase, especially when a select few items from the Revlon range are on 2 for £10
I’ve got a few of the lip butters but don’t wear them too much but I think that’s because the shades I have just aren’t very ‘me’ (Other than Tutti Fruity but not really the season for orange!) – So I decided to refresh my collection with some shades that I’d find more wearable.
Weirdly, I don’t remember having seen ‘Sugar Plum’ or ‘Red Velvet’ before, I guess I just didn’t look hard enough! These two shades really called out to me, and I’m really rather glad that they did.
Red Velvet is one of the shades that is very pigmented and a really rich, strong colour, as you can see. An, almost, burgundy red it’s just stunning.
Much more fitting with the name lip butter Sugar Plum is a sheer, balmy plum shade and I love it, a Lot.
This is my natural lips – Just because you can’t really get a good idea of a shade, especially a sheer one, without knowing what a persons natural lips are like.
As you can see, this isn’t totally opaque bit it’s definitely not sheer either – It’s a very very gorgeous colour, though, and I look forward to wearing it a lot more. The formula is really nice, it feels balmy and soft on the lips, not drying at all.
And this? Well Sugar Plum may well be one of my new go to shades – It’s got a gorgeous glossy, balmy look to it and it’s very sheer but there’s just enough colour to make it look perfect. I don’t know, I just love it. Again, beautiful formula for this one.
Well these are my first up-close photos of my lips – I’ve been putting it off because… I don’t know, just because I have but I just want to get over that and get on with it. If I want to improve my blog then I need to be able to things like show you swatches of things on the lips, so there you go! I’m not one for messing about with photos so they are as they are, imperfections and all, but the way I see it is that those don’t make any difference to the way the product looks on my lips! Thankfully I’ve been able to get my lips into really good condition, recently, so hopefully I can keep them that way and show you some more on the lip photos for other products soon!
