Co-Washing with Ojon – The ‘Moisture-Rich Cleansing Conditioner’ – Review

At the fabulous Ojon event that I attended a couple of months ago the lovely ladies representing Ojon told us about one of their new releases for this year and it, definitely, had us intrigued. Ojon are entering the world of co-washing with their offering of the ‘Rare Blend Moisture-rich Cleansing Conditioner’. Until I was at the event I hadn’t heard of co-washing so you can be sure I got home and did some googling once I could!

Co-washing, essentially, celebrates the idea of not over washing your hair with products which will strip them of their own, natural oils. This strikes a real chord with me as I’ve always been quite a fan of not over washing my hair and it’s something I’ve recommended to a lot of friends who wash it daily and find that it becomes greasy and lank.

You’ll be pleased to know that this product has no sulfates in it and, instead,  it’s full of wonderful ingredients – ‘Coconut-Derived Cleanser’ and ‘Ojon oil’ plus a long list of other nourishing oils which promise do wonders to hydrate and nourish your hair.

I’ve used it a few times, since it arrived, and I’m really rather happy with it. The first time I used it and didn’t use any other products, at all, after washing; I just wanted to see how it fared on its own and I was impressed – It left my hair feeling thick and hydrated without feeling oily and it definitely still felt clean! It was quite odd to use as the lathering effect of most shampoos isn’t present and, if I’m honest, I did quite miss that but it doesn’t matter at all when you consider how well it worked with my hair; t’is a small sacrifice to pay!

The second time I used it I used some Ojon ‘Rare Blend Oil’ after it was towel dried and Wow. This combination was just perfect for my hair, and is how I’ll always use it now – It’s currently at a point where I hate it most days and can’t wait for it to be cut but with these two products my hair felt and looked better than it had in a long time. I am quite in love with the ‘Rare Blend’ oil, anyway, and these two together are a winning combination.

The Cleansing conditioner has that signature Ojon scent which I enjoy a good deal so massaging it in to the hair is really nice; it feels quite therapeutic, like aromatherapy, when you lay back and breathe in the gorgeous scent. The ease of being able to use just one product is is an undeniable time bonus and the fact that my hair felt so good, and I didn’t get that ‘squeaky clean’ feeling that I get after a shampoo and before a conditioner, was another big plus. I definitely enjoy this product and am going to use it between shampoos when I think my hair needs it, until the last half a bottle is gone.

It’s going to be available from Boots.com and Ojon.co.uk from 16th April for the cost of £21 – You get a nice 240ml of product in the bottle and, if you use it between washes as a refresher, then it can be made to last a good amount of time.

I did say, back when I told you what I was given at the event, that I’d review what people asked for and I promised I’d do a review on the ‘Damage Reverse’ mask which I haven’t done, yet. I have tried the product and I do like it but I want to use it again before I post soo watch this space!

I can understand that but it really is phenomenal, the rare blend oil transforms my hair and the cleansing conditioner isn't used every time so should last, at least 🙂
