Skincare skincare skincare! I am absolutely obsessed at the moment; in less than a week it’ll be 3 months until I get married and I Really Really want good skin for the wedding! (Who wouldn’t?!) That’s not to say I don’t want good skin the rest of the time, but it’s my wedding day, massive blemishes are a no no!
When the opportunity to trial Bee Good‘s ‘Honey & Propolis 2-in-1 Cream Cleanser’ arrived I was thrilled as I have been trying to use cream or oil based cleansers for a while, now, as my skin reacts So much better to them, and they tend to be really enjoyable to use. What’s more, there’s a fantastic ethos behind the company Bee Good, and I was really pleased to learn why they do what they do.
Put simply, they’re providing good quality, natural skin care And they’re helping Britain’s bee population, and Britain by using, exclusively, British honey, beeswax and propolis – That’s a whole lot of good things to come from one little tube!
They donate a share of all of their profits to British beekeeping projects which is wonderful and the fact that they use only British bee products will make such a massive difference, too. Another thing that they do, which I am absolutely in love with, is, inside each order, include a small note which is printed on special paper; when you tear that paper up and plant it in your garden it’ll become wild flowers which will be a source of nectar for our local bees – How amazing is that!
Alright, it’s quite clear that I’ve been won over by the principles and actions of this brand, but I’ve got to tell you about their product as well, kind of pointless without that part!
Immediately I could see that this had been packaged with love, it was actually a joy to unwrap. This is the ‘Honey & Propolis 2-in-1 Cream Cleanser’. It’s free from parabens, synthetic colour, mineral oil, silicone and SLS/SLES but it Is made with British wild flower honey, British propolis and British crambe oil.
Wild flower honey is known for being moisturising whilst the propolis has antibacterial properties and the crambe oil is for nourishment – A nice balance of natural and useful ingredients. The tube contains 100ml of product and costs £11.50 and as well as the tube of product there’s also a muslin cloth included which makes for even better value for your money.
I’ve used this product for a few weeks and it’s been an absolute joy – The scent of it is heavenly, it’s very natural smelling with a hint of something citrus and other notes that just make it smell like you’re having an aromatherapy treatment. I’d massage the product into dry skin first thing in the morning and the smell was so invigorating but even the act of massaging it in was wonderful, I have no idea what it but it felt, truly, wonderful to massage in to the skin.
I have a tendency to leave a product on my skin for a short while before wiping it off, I want to give it a chance to get to work! Normally once I’ve applied my cleanser I’ll brush my teeth and then when I’ve done that it’ll be time to get the cloth out. The muslin cloth that comes with the cleanser feels like fantastic quality and it holds the heat of very hot water really well. I like to get the cloth as hot as I can stand and then press it on to my face for a short while before wiping the product off – It adds to the indulgent feel of it but also opens the pores so allows the product to really work deep into the skin.
Not once after I’ve used this product has my skin ever felt dry or tight; more often than not I came away with skin that was more moisturised than before and definitely feeling cleaner and smoother. It didn’t leave any sort of residue, which some creamy cleansers do, it just left my skin feeling incredibly clean but just not in the stripped way that some cleanser do.
I’m still getting blemishes whilst using this product, but it’s stayed at the lower level amount that I’ve managed to achieve whilst using good skin care. To my honest my blemishes are controlled by hormones, good skin care can reduce them and help them heal up quicker but I don’t expect anything to make it go altogether. This product definitely kept my skin in good order and kept blemishes to a minimum.
I mostly used this in the morning but I did want to test how it worked at removing makeup and it was a big hit there, too. I am always wary about using a cleanser to remove eye makeup but I was brave, in order to let you all know how it worked, and it paid off because it didn’t hurt my eyes at all and it melted the makeup away in no time at all.
This product is a definite hit for me and I am looking forward to using more from the brand. Their products are currently available from their site, http://beegood.co.uk/, and will hopefully be available elsewhere in the future, too. I am itching to try that honey and vanilla lip balm!
