Birchbox UK - Unboxing / Review - May 2014

I wasn't expecting much from this months box as I'd seen a few people saying they weren't impressed with it - But my goodness I think those who don't like it are a bit nuts, this is an Amazing box! In my opinion anyway. If you agree and want to sign up, my referral link is: http://birchbox.co.uk/?raf=19096 If you use my link both you and I will get £5 worth of points to spend in the Birchbox store!

Anyway, on to the box and the exciting contents.

This is the design on the box - When it's a special they often just put a sleeve over the normal box with the design on. I, for one, love that the design it straight on the box this time, it's so pretty! I will definitely be making use of this box for storage! As the box suggests, this month the box is a collaboration with Harper's Bazar!

And here's what's inside! Hair care, skin care, bath and body, cosmetics And nails... they really do cover all bases and with a fabulous array of brands too!

Sorry about the weird angle and the bad light, So dark and cloudy but I wanted to get the post done!

First up we have the Aromatherapy Associates 'Revive Morning' bath and shower oil - I've picked these up, in the past, for a few pounds from another site, so I'm loving seeing this in the box,

These little 3ml bottles contain an oil that smells heavenly and is so so potent it'll scent the whole room and beyond - I'm very very happy to get this in my box, who doesn't want some Aromatherapy Associates in their life?! The full sized 55ml bottle costs £39, so even though this bottle is small it has a decent value.

Next up we have the miniature Benefit 'They're Real' mascara - This is such a big favourite with So many beauty lovers that I can imagine this'll be a real hit in the boxes. It's not a favourite for me but I may well want to try it out again and, if not, I'm sure someone will be happy to get it in a giveaway in the future! The full size of this mascara costs £19.50 and these sample sizes sell for quite a lot themselves.

Thank you thank you Birchbox! T'is so annoying to get Only the shampoo Or conditioner in a box so getting both is just great! We've had this brand before and their products are Goood so I'm very happy to be able to try out their shampoo and conditioner - The full sizes of these cost £14 each so, again, another good priced sample!!

**Edit** - The lovely Jenny at http://jennysbeautypages.weebly.com has pointed out to me that the brand are actually in breech of the law due to the fact that the ingredients are not on the bottle. I hadn't noticed as I am about to go out and had posted as quickly as possible; but this is something worth being late for, to get this update written out. Jenny contacted Birchbox and they have now put ingredients up on their website so if you're not sure if these products would be suitable for you then you can check there (Thanks to Jenny!)

Next we have a box which says Soigne Botanique on it - You can bet I was intrigued by this one, I like surprises!

Thankfully, it wasn't a big box containing a tiny perfume sample or something daft, it actually held this rather posh looking nail polish! This is in the shade 'Persimmon' and it couldn't be more summer friendly! I love deep orange nails for the summer. I have some polishes in this shade but they may be re-homed to make way for this beauty. This is a fulll size polish worth £11 and I can't wait to find out what the quality is like.

Lastly we have a real cult favourite in the shape of the Liz Earle 'Cleanse & Polish - Hot Cloth Cleanser' - I was Very happy to see this in the box as I've not been able to try it before.

I was rather pleased to see that we had a cloth included in our little package, as well as a 30ml tube of the product. A Very good item to get in the box. A full size of this starts from £13.25 which puts this as another very good valued sample.

Honestly I don't know why people didn't like this box - It's full of cult classics, beauty junkie favourites and high end products! I dunno, but I do know that this is the best box I've seen in a Long time! If you agree, don't forget to use my link, above, to sign up!

  1. I'm not big on beauty items but the one thing I have used everyday for years is the Liz Earle C&P. In just a couple of days it made a big difference to my skin. I hope you're impressed as well.

  2. I wasn't going to look as I haven't received mine yet but I couldn't resist! I'll be over the moon with the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish cleanser as I've been wanting to try that for a while, I'm guessing I won't end up with it!
