Five product face challenge! Including Makeup Revolution, Soap & Glory, Maybelline, Collection and L’Oreal

Weeks and weeks ago the lovely Charlotte from ‘Makeup by Candlelight’ tagged me in her ‘Face five challenge’ post and I, instantly, knew this was something I wanted to get involved in! Of course it took me ages to decide what I’d use and to get some decent photos but, finally, I’m ready!

I love the idea of these challenges because we’re all busy people and so, sometimes, it’s a great idea to have a really basic selection of things to wear for a simple, easy look that we can throw on in a few minutes!

And these are the five items I’ve chosen – I’ve reviewed a couple of them separately so I’ll link to them when I write why I’ve chosen each one.

Maybelline ‘Dream Pure BB Cream’This first product was a bit of a no-brainer for me. I could’ve used a foundation but I went for this BB cream because when I consider a 5 product face I assume I’m trying to be quick so I went for something light and easy that I can blend with my fingers. I’ve nearly finished my second tube of this product, no other BB cream has come close to how well this works for my skin.

Collection  ‘Lasting Perfection Concealer’ – I have lots of concealers that I like but I wanted to get as flawless as I could for this look so needed something with quite good coverage. A cult beauty favourite this is a fantastic little product for little over £4, not much more can be said about it really – You can see how used it is by the fact that there’s nooo writing left on the tube! I used this on my blemishes, under my eyes and on my eyelids to cover discolouration but I also used it under the brows and down the bridge of my nose for a bit of a highlight.

Soap and Glory ‘Glow All Out’ powder – This is a must have product for me, I use it All the time and have had so many friends/readers let me know they’ve been converted to it since seeing my review (or seeing me wearing it) – It’s just beautiful. Just after I started wearing it I started getting people tell me how healthy I looked, I wasn’t healthy, it was alllll the powder! It’s a bit of a pain to get it to show up in photographs but, hopefully, I’ve managed to get the sheen/shimmer to show up – It does, as well as this, add a touch of colour to the cheek but that seems to refuse to show up in photos. That aside, this product is my go-to for when I just want to look healthier, but don’t want to go all out with a blush/contour/highlight session.

L’Oreal ‘Miss Manga lashes’ mascara – I had a hard time deciding whether or not to use a clear mascara so that I could use it on my brows and my lashes but my brows have been behaving ok recently plus my fringe is getting long enough to cover them a bit now and I’ve become a bit of a mascara addict. After years of not wearing it I now love it. I went for the Miss Manga product because it gives me Big lashes without being ott – With the thick rimmed glasses it’s hard to see so I wanted something to stand out, especially as it’s the only eye product I used.

Makeup Revolution ‘Salvation Velvet Laquer’ in ‘What I Believe’ – I went for this product as it’s really long lasting, which is something I look for if I’m doing a quick look as I assume I won’t have much time for touch ups. I like this shade as it’s got enough colour to not be neutral but it’s still not in your face. The matte effect works nicely against the glowing look I tried to get with my the complexion.

Please excuse my hair, first of all, I slept on it badly and it refused to behave!

Hopefully, here, you can see how I managed to get quite good coverage, complexion wise, and you can see the soft glow of the powder (though I wish it’d pick up the colour too!) As well as that you can see the mascara quite clearly and the lips too (note that the lacquer almost manages to cover up the bad lip I have, following getting a spot Right near my lip – It’s still visible but only just which I’m really impressed with)

I am quite happy with the look I put together and it took very little time to do. Natural but with a healthy glow and defined eyes – A nice simple, spring time look with only five products.

Anyone that wants to should do this post but I am going to tag (in no particular order! And if I missed you out please don’t take offence, I had loads but just stuck to 5)

Cheers for tagging me Laura – consider it done!

I love your look, it's pretty but natural. I have to say I love the look of the Soap & Glory Glow All Out Powder, I think I'm going to have to check it out. I always miss out on S&G make-up products as they just don't have them in my local Boots and I just don't think to look online!
