I’ve managed to successfully avoid all spoilers for this month so I had no idea what sort of products were in this months Glossybox but finding out that it was a collaboration with Superdrug did give me a rough idea and I definitely liked that idea! And, thankfully, I wasn’t disappointed – I love the box.
The box design and the leaflet for this month are just loads of fun – Perfectly fitting with the Superdrug collaboration and celebrating the 50th year of Superdrug, exciting stuff!
The box was heavy so I was intrigued to know what’d be inside – Knowing that the collab was with Superdrug meant that I had an inkling that it’d be very high st friendly and wow I wasn’t disappointed! Now… Ok. I know that we signed up to Glossybox for high end samples but wow do I love a box full of full sized high st! I haven’t read other people’s reactions yet but I’m guessing Some will complain about lack of high end – I, on the other hand, couldn’t be happier! I Really wish that Glossybox did a high end box and a high st box, so you could pick whichever you wanted (Miss Glossybox was almost there but was limited by age restraints). That aside, Glossybox have been including more high st products in their boxes and I’ve been thrilled with that. I do know that others won’t be but hey, you’re reading my blog so you can know what I think about it!
Let’s just discuss these two, first. Foil packets and perfume samples are, normally, the bane of beauty boxes but when they’re present just as little extras then that’s fantastic! We’ve got 5 main items, this month, plus these two wee samples and I’m more than happy with that. I’m already intrigued by the Garnier ‘Oil-Infused Nourishing Lorion’ so, happy to see this. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by Ghost perfume samples in the past so happy to try another – This one is light and fruity, it’s nice.
First up, for the main items, we have the Max Factor ‘Face Finity – All Day Primer’. I’ve not used much Max Factor, not sure why but they’re not a brand I’m drawn to; I have tried some items, though, and I’ve enjoyed them well enough. I’m rather happy to see this primer in the box, though, I’ve heard great things about it and the bottle size of 30ml is a nice size for a primer – With the warmer weather coming it’ll be nice to have something that’ll keep my makeup in place, hopefully. This full sized product is worth £10.99 so you’ve pretty much covered the cost of the box, and some postage, in just one item.
Lots of people squirm a bit when it comes to foot care but, there’s no denying it, feet are something that need our attention and products to keep them in good condition can be a real saviour. Summer is coming and the last thing we want is to be slipping on our favourite sandals with nasty looking feet! I think this Scholl ‘Velvet Smooth Overnight Mask’ promises some impressive things which, could, make a great difference in the summer feet stakes. Another full sized product, this 60ml tube contains quite a self explanatory product. I’m quite hoping it’s a good product because, at £7.99, it’s not too bad to re-purchase.
Now it’s always a bit of a pain when you get half of a set of shampoo or conditioner in a box But when the half you get is a Full Sized bottle I am less inclined to worry. I couldn’t believe it when I saw a massive bottle of conditioner in my box, though it did explain the weight! I’ve really liked Schwarzkopf hair products in the past so was more than happy to see this in my box. I’ve never tried something that claims to have ‘liquidised crystals’ in it so I’ll be intrigued to see what this is like, and tempted to buy the shampoo too. I’ve actually just finished my conditioner so now it’s whether or not to take something from my stash or just to use this straight away, haha. Another full sized product, this ‘Crystal shine Conditioner’ costs £4.99.
Next up we have a ‘Bronze Glow Mosaic’ powder from Collection. Collection isn’t a brand I use a lot but they do have some really great products at bargain prices so I’m more than happy to try something new from them. This bronzing powder comes in at a bargain £2.99 so, again, quite hoping it’s fantastic as it’s the perfect re-purchase price! I’m not sure if this particular one is a little too dark for me, based on how it looks in the pan but the swatch I took doesn’t look too bad.
Fingers crossed I can pull it off – I’d be more than happy to discover another product to give me a summer glow.
Lastly I got this B. ‘Sheer Conditioning Lipstick’ – Again this is a brand that I don’t have masses of experience with but have heard good things. I love sheer lip products so this one sounded good from the outset, I just wasn’t sure about a shade like ‘Merlot’ being particularly summer friendly. As it happens, though, it’s very light and actually quite a bright shade that I think will work for any season.
The shade looks really nice so I’m looking forward to trying out the moisturising properties, to see how they stand up. The fifth full sized product of the box, this lipstick cost £6.99.
So there you go – Five full sized products and two little samples, who could complain about that! A nice variety of products and quite summer friendly I am exciting to try out each and every item I got in my box – That primer is going on my face in no time at all! The box may be high st but the value of those items is great, very very happy from my point of view. Thank you Glossybox, thank you Superdrug!
