I don’t know why but I was expecting it to be a few more days until my Birchbox arrived so I was rather pleased when it got here today! Now there’s been a lot of buzz around this months box, so much so that it was hard for me to avoid spoilers, but I actually haven’t had either of the big brands that I’d heard about so the box was a nice surprise for me! Despite not getting those two big brands I really like my box (I’ll mention the two big brands, later, so if you’re here by accident and you don’t want spoilers then look away now!)
If you like the box as much as I have, or if you like the idea of a chance of getting the two brands that I didn’t get, and you decide to sign up then if you use my link you’ll get £5 worth of bichbox points to spend in the store, and I’ll get the same! My link is: http://birchbox.co.uk/?raf=19096
This month’s theme is ‘Global Strikers’ – You’d not expect to be too pleased with a football themed beauty box but they’ve done rather well with it, opting to give us items from around the globe. The two things that a lot of people have been excited over, that I didn’t get, are Caudalie and Beauty blender so, on top of what I got, there’s a really nice mix of products available this month!
And here’s what’s in my rather aptly coloured bag! As I often am, I’m impressed with how I have items to cover most major groups, skin care, body care etc. Very nice!
The lifestyle extra for this month is this fun little flipflip keyring, maybe not something that’ll push you to buy the box but quite sweet none the less.
My first item is this ‘Body Radiance Lotion’ by Naobay – It’s a nice sized, 30ml, tube and the lotion has shea butter, olive and avocado oils in which sound like they’ll make a nice product. It has a nice, light, lemon scent which I quite look forward to enjoying when I use this product (I love me a good citrus scent, especially in the summer).
Next up I got a ‘Shea butter hair mask’ from Milk + Honey – Another brand that I’ve not heard of but am quite pleased to be able to try. This has a short use by date on, so make sure to check it if you get one yourself, I assume this means that it has some fresher ingredients which is rather nice. It has honey in as well as shea butter and it looks nice and thick with not much of a scent to it. I like hair masks a Lot so am very happy to get this and it’s a nice sized tub so should get a few uses depending on your hair length.
Was Very pleased to get something by Embryolisse in my box, they’re a brand I keep almost trying but am never sure which item to pick up. The ‘Lait-Creme Concentre’ can be used as a normal face cream but if you layer it up it can be used as a hydrating mask which is a nice idea. It’s only 5ml of product but I look forward to getting a few uses out of it and deciding whether or not to invest in a bigger size.
I keep seeing Yves Rocher around and I think I’m subscribed to their mailing list but I never seem to end up buying anything from them. I do have one of their hand creams, which I like, so getting a cosmetics product was a very nice surprise. This is from their ‘Sheer Botanical Lipstick’ range which was nice to see, too, as I love sheer lip products, especially in the warmer months.
The shade I got is ’12. Marron Glace’ – It’s a beautiful, sheer, nudey mauve shade and I like it Lots and Lots! I’m actually about to apply it just before we go out.
And who doesn’t love to find an OPI
mini in the little green box hidden at the bottom of the bag! I believe the shades are from the ‘Brazil collection’ which is nice and fitting. This shade that I’ve got seems to be a purple with a golden duochrome, very Very pretty!
So yes, all in all, a beautiful box! Even without Caudalie or Beauty blender it’s full of fantastic things, we’ve got cosmetics, skin care, body care, hair care and nails! A very good all round box and a nicely kept up theme throughout. Not bad for a beauty box with a football theme, haha! If you like the box, too, then don’t forget to use my link above when you sign up.
