There's two chocolate bar style palettes in the range, the other being called 'I Heart Chocolate', but that one has more greens in it which is why it was the 'Death by Chocolate' palette that I'd been planning on buying.
And it really does look like a bar of chocolate! Ethan just went out with Grandma but before he left he ran over and said 'What's that!' and I told him it was my makeup, he was quite disappointed when he said 'It looks like chocolate' - If you can fool a chocolate magnet like him then you know it looks good!
The palette was much heavier than I expected and it feels really, really sturdy which is a real bonus. It feels like really good quality and it just has a really satisfying feel to it when you hold it. Not bad at all considering this only costs £7.99
As you can see, in the picture above, the palette has a really nice, big mirror in it as well as 16 beautiful eyeshadow shades. They range from deep browns to creamy whites with plenty more in between - Lets get on to those swatches!
I've done my standard two photos for this set of shades as I really liked the photo where you can't see the shimmer, because it really shows the depth of colour, but I also wanted to make sure you can see that gorgeous shimmer too.
We have, in the two pictures above, 'White Light', 'Don't let Go', 'Break Me Up', 'Consume Me' and 'All is Lost'.
As you can see there are three mattes, which are all really nicely pigmented, as well as one really bright shimmer in 'Don't Let Go' and then a much gentler sheen with 'Consume Me'
These are the first three on the second row - 'Lick Me', 'Fool's Gold' and 'One More Bar'.
I really love dusky pinks so the pale dusky pink that is 'Lick Me' is a favourite for me even though it's not the boldest shade. That's not to say the other two shades aren't gorgeous, though, as it's a beautiful shade of gold for 'Fool's Gold' and they've captured an absolutely perfect matte chocolate brown for 'One more Bar'
Here we have 'Devour Me', 'Tear up the Wrapper' and 'Love You to Death'
Still a deep brown, Devour me does have a slightly plummy hint to it, which is beautiful. I love the fact that the coppery/gold shade is called 'Tear up the Wrapper' it seems perfect to me! 'Love you to Death' is one of those impossible shades to photograph; as you can see it's a gorgeous plummy purple shade but what's not showing in the picture is the fabulous plum shaded iridescence that the shade also has (they just never seem to get caught by my camera)
This last five shades all have quite a lot of shimmer in so I've gone with two photos, again, to try and capture both the beautiful shades and the amount of shimmer that they have.
We have 'Pray For Me', 'Dipped', 'Tease Me', 'Set Me Free' and 'Bring Down Angels'
A nice range of neutral sort of shades, they finish off the palette just beautifully and they're all so fantastically pigmented.
The palette was an absolute joy to swatch, seeing each shade come to life as it was applied to skin - I love this palette, the range of shades is beautiful. Yes, it might be another neutrals palette, but I think that it's just different enough to justify loving it as well as the other neutral palettes that I own. The quality of these shadows is evident in the photos, the pigmentation of all of them is fantastic, from matte to shimmers and those which sit somewhere in between. Love love love this palette and I'm so thrilled that I have it already!
