You Beauty Discovery Box – Unboxing/Review – September 2014

Woohoo I do love subscription box time! It really is a-go-go from here on in, I’ve got the few boxes I’ve bought myself but I’ve got just as many exciting ones to review for you, too, a couple of which I’ve not shared with you before so I can’t wait!

Today’s time for the You Beauty Discovery box for September – It’s been a good month this month!

September is the Birthday Special month for You Beauty boxes so there was some extra treats to be had, yay!
For the smaller samples, that everyone got, there was a £25 Hello Fresh card, two Crabtree & Evelyn tea bags and a little makeup sponge.
In addition to this, everyone also got sent the Toni & Guy ‘ Glamour Volume Plumping Whip’ as as Birthday special extra – Definitely a nice additional item from my point of view. I do already have one of these so it’ll probably become a gift or a giveaway prize but it’s a full sized, good value item which is nice to use.
The first of my chosen items is a ‘Wild About Beauty’ lipstick – It was listed as a sheer lipstick with spf15 and I was excited to see what shade I’d get.
I got sent this beautiful nude shade which is called ‘Bobbie’ – I really have had a thing about nudes this S/S. I’d been crazy about going back to peaches and corals but instead I went for nudes 90% of the time. I probably have more than enough, already, but this is a welcome addition.
It’s not too pale a shade and, so, should be nice and wearable, especially because it’s sheer and should let some of the natural lip colour help dictate the sort of shade it’ll be.
The second item I went for was one of the mini Pixi ‘Tinted Brilliance Balm’ pencils. The one I got is in the shade ‘Unique Pink’ which, as you can see, has almost no colour to it at all and has a slight transparency about it.

I assumed, to begin with, that this meant it was just for gloss rather than colour and that was confirmed by the swatch I did that was totally see through but had a nice sheen.

But, when I looked down at my hand a short while later I noticed that there was a hint of pink in the swatch. As you can see it’s not much but it definitely wasn’t there before. And then my brain did a bit of whirring… and clunking… and ticking… and I realised it was one of the shades that adapts to the PH levels and I checked and I was right! I popped it on my lips and got a slight hint of pink which looked really nice – Very glad I got this shade!

So, as you can see, a definitely winning box. There’s a problem with my account, this month, and I can’t seem to re-subscribe so I’ve made a new account so I can still get next month’s box, hopefully it’ll be good!
