Birchbox UK Unboxing / Review - October 2014 - Supporting CoppaFeel

I was commenting on the Birchbox UK facebook last night, being disappointed that they were sharing spoiler photos which made it impossible to avoid - 10 minutes later and I get a knock on the door. It's coming up for 8 at night and there's a delivery man at the door with my Birchbox!

I'm rather pleased with this month's box, if you decide to sign up then using my link would give both you and myself £5 worth of points to spend in the Birchbox shop - http://birchbox.co.uk/?raf=19096

This month the box is supporting CoppaFeel which, if you check, you'll see is a really worthwhile cause - With October being breast cancer awareness month it makes a lot of sense.

The info cards that normally accompany a box have been turned in to a little calendar for this month - The calendar supports this months theme as well as the CoppaFeel cause. It weaves in uses for the products which may have been available in this months box.

This months theme is 'Work It!' which is all about getting motivated to get the things that need doing to get done which is what the calendar is to help with, it gives you a tip, each day, for making the most out of it and make things run more smoothly.

I was a little bit happy to see that this month's products came in a little zip up bag - The draw string ones are great but they're limited in what you can use them for whereas a little zip up bag of this kind is a perfect makeup bag, pencil case etc. I've been wanting to find a little bag to use to put my crochet bits in and this is the perfect size so it's now living in my crochet bag with some needles and scissors and things in (Would not complain if this was a regular thing, Birchbox!)

The bag came full of fantastic products, as you can see - I really was very happy with this bag.

The lifestyle item, this month, is a rather cute little pen in the shape of a lipstick which they suggest using to check off each day on the little calendar - All very well thought out.

Next is this rather interesting little bottle of gel from Shaveworks - This is 'The Cool Fix' fel is cooling and is for treating ingrown hairs, razor bumps and redness after hair removal. I've never heard of this before but I could definitely do with it and because it's a targeted product, hopefully the 29ml bottle will last a little while.

A Premae product, next, in the shape of a 'Mild Dermabrasion Face & Body Scrub' - this tub is only tiny so you won't get much use out of it as a body scrub but for the face it should go further. The fact that it's mild means that, hopefully, it'll be ok for the face.

I've wanted to try this 'Free Shape - Quick Blow Dry' spray from KMS California for a while - It's used as a lightly conditioning spray which is meant to speed up blow drying time. It doesn't take long to dry my short hair but anything that speeds it up is amazing. This is 75ml so I think it'll last quite a long time.

Next up we have the Korres 'Citrus Showergel' - I love Korres products and I love citrus things so the only thing that could've been better about this would have been if it was the fig one. This is 50ml which will last quite a while, too.

Last but, most definitely, not least is a Pixi 'Shea Butter Lip Balm' - I Love Pixi products, especially their lip products. I've almost bought some of these before so was Very pleased to see this in the box.

I got the shade 'Ripe Raspberry' which is perfect for this time of year. This is a full sized product, no twisting it up to find out that there's only a teeny amount of product in it.

This is just a thin swipe of the colour, it's a lovely shade. I am so so impressed by the fact that when you wipe it away it leaves a coloured stain behind - It's been hours since I applied it and I've washed my hands since and it's Still there! I've actually ordered two more of these from the BB shop with some of my points, yeah I like these a lot.

So yes, a real winner for me this month. I love that they brought the theme together so well, love that it's promoting such a good cause, the bag is awesome and 4 out of the 6 items are perfect for me and the other two are really good, too.

Remember, if you like the box and want to sign up, too, then please do use my code so we can both get points for the shop - http://birchbox.co.uk/?raf=19096

  1. Looks like another great month from Birchbox. I got the Korres last month so I wonder what I might get instead!

  2. I like the new bag the products come in a lot, I think it should stay for future boxes. The cooling gel is something I really hope I'm getting, along with the Pixi balm, as for the rest I'm not that fussed. Korres is a Greek brand that I have access to 24/7 (all my family being in Greece, they do usually send me packages with things I want from there) and I do love his products, but I'm more interested in his skincare range than his shower one.

    1. Everyone gets the Pixi balm so you'll definitely get that.

I've only tried their cosmetics so far so was nice to try some Korres body care as a nice change (I love their tinted lip balms)
