Also, before I get started, I'd love to know if any of you had noticed that these seem to be a good dupe for a brand we can't, easily, get in the UK?
Oh yes, that rose gold packaging again, just look how beautiful it is, if you walked past this in a store you'd be sure to stop and pay attention, it stands out and will definitely draw people in. And if the packaging doesn't captivate people then the surprising price definitely will, these are only £6.99 which is fantastic.
The 'Iconic Pro' palettes have the same shiny plastic on the bottom half of the casing but on the top it's a beautiful, high quality looking matte which works really well against the rose gold script.
There's 16 shades in the palette, 8 matte and 8 shimmer/sheen shades which work together to make this beautiful colour set. The palette also holds a huge mirror and a fantastic double ended brush - Thank goodness, a brush rather than a foam applicator! One end of the brush is a flatter one for application and the other is a fluffier, blending brush.
The other 'Iconic Pro' palette is beautiful, too, but I'm so pleased to have this one as it contains some more different shades which I wouldn't normally go for but which I really want to play around with.
But let's move on to those shades, on to some swatches.
I was really surprised at how pigmented this first four matte shades were - From left to right we have 'Paper', 'Chase', 'Smooth' and 'New-Tral' which are a great selection of neutral mattes which would be great for contouring the eye. I did build these up a little, so that you could see the shades well, but it really didn't take much to get this intensity of shade, honestly amazed.
This four weren't quite so, naturally, intense, they have a more smoky quality to them which is quite fitting when you consider the types of shades that they are. These are 'One Way', 'New Rules', 'Grey Day' and 'Sudden' and 'One Way' and 'New Rules' are just amazing, I love the tone of them as they're bold, jewel shades but they're soft enough that they're really wearable. The grey and black are great additions, too, as they'd be perfect for that standard smoky eye.
Next up we have 'Only', 'Silk', 'Awaken' and 'New Day' - This four, paler, neutrals are all beautiful formulas and have an amazing amount of sheen to them but without too much glitter. All of them look fantastic but the pale gold/cream and rose gold/copper of 'Silk' and 'Awaken' are my two favourites, I think I'll be able to use both of these easily. Though that paler bronze shade of 'New Day' is really wearable too.
The last four shades are 'Steal-Er', 'Echo', 'Ambition' and 'Faith' which are all stunning. I love the shimmering taupe of 'Steal-Er', I think that might be the first shade I wear as the cool tone is much easier to work with on my skin tone. The silver of 'Echo' is just stunning, I'm not sure how I'd use it but I definitely want to try. The last two shades have a lot less shimmer but it's still there, the khaki/gold is one of those shades I always want to try but still haven't, maybe this will be the palette that finally gets me to do it. And, oh, the beauty of 'Faith', without too much shimmer this'd be great for a crease shade, though would obviously need a lighter touch.
Oh yes, this palette. It has everything I think I'd want from a palette, I can already picture so many shade combinations that I want to use... yes this is a real winner for me and I can imagine it would be for many other beauty fans. Would love to know your thoughts on it, too? If you want to try them out you can look at them both here: http://www.makeuprevolutionstore.com/index.php/palettes/iconic-pro-1-and-2.html
