The balm comes in a wee, 8ml tub which looks absolutely beautiful. I love the white with the golden accents, it really highlights the warmth, the very 'honey' feel to it. It's a small tub so it's great for slipping in to a travel makeup bag for your handbag, or straight in to your bag itself as it's a nice robust little pot.
It's for lips and dry places but I've only used it for lips as I love lip balms and I Really love honey lip balms so it was a real no brainer for me. It contains 3 honeys, Thyme, Orange Blossom and Acacia, which are there to nourish, revitalise and repair and I definitely think that they do their jobs well. As well as the honey elements there's Arnica extract to soothe and Shea Butter to nourish and protect. All of the ingredients are natural and 84% are organic; I find this impressive and it's a real bonus to both the product, and the brand.
As you can see, it's a pale product and, when you take some from the tub, it's completely colourless. It's thick, without being heavy, and when you apply it it disappears in to the lips really easily which makes it the kind of balm that I'd wear below a lipstick, as well as on its own.
The smell is just beautiful. you can definitely smell the honey and the beautiful sweetness that goes with it but there's also a hint of citrus and a little touch of both herbal and floral scents in there too. It really is the exact sort of smell that I like and, in total honesty. I do just take the lid off to have a sniff from time to time.
I've had this on our coffee table, most of the time, since it arrived and I've just grabbed it and applied as and when I got the urge; I didn't want to just wear it in the morning and evening or anything like that. I love the feel of it on the lips and, as I said above, it doesn't leave them feeling clogged up or heavy like a lot of really nourishing balms do.
I have a lot of favourite lip balms, some high street and some higher end, and they all do a great job. But there's something a bit special about the '3 Honeys Balm' from Melvita - Where other balms will moisturise and soothe my dry lips for a while, this balm does it for so so much longer. Honestly, I don't find myself constantly having to re-apply, I don't feel like my lips feel great for an hour but they're dry again soon after, with this they feel good, and they stay feeling good, for a really long time. There's a real sense of this balm repairing the lips as well adding moisture, and it feels like the moisturising that they do perform is much deeper than other products. I feel like most lip balms are a short term fix but this balm goes a really long way towards giving you long term, healthy lips, and that's rather amazing.
The balm is £10 which isn't cheap but considering how good it is I think it's, absolutely, worth the cost. It is a mult-use product, too, so if you use it as a lip balm but find you have a really sore, dry, aggravated area of skin then you can apply this for that, too, so I think that adds an additional value to it. I've used this for a good few weeks, now, and I've barely made a dent in it so I'm hoping it'll last a long time, and when it runs out I want more and more and more!
