Personalised gifts and Disney fun with I Just Love It

This was supposed to be a Christmas gift idea post but, according to the website, last delivery for Christmas has passed so I can't recommend that you get these as gifts this year (the item only arrived yesterday so, for once, it's, not me being bogged down that's delayed the post). What I can do, though, is tell you my thoughts on the item as a general gift idea, and share an awesome quiz, which results in a money off code, as well.

My Purrfect Christmas with Whiskas

My goodness it really is nearly Christmas, isn't it! We don't have decorations up, yet, but the boys have been opening their advent calendars, the presents were all bought weeks ago and most of them are already wrapped, Oliver's been wearing his Christmas bibs and Ethan's finished school, there's no denying that it's nearly here.

As organised as I am, there's one thing I've not done, this year, or for the past few, and that's something special for the cats. Now I know it's easy to say that, once you have children, your priorities shift, but I do feel bad that I used to go out of my way to include the cats in our celebrations and now they don't get as much fuss.

When Whiskas asked me to write, for you, about our cats at Christmas, and my memories of past Christmas' with them it really got me thinking about it all and I definitely want to go back to including them like we used to.

Get Party-Ready Feet this Holiday Season with Footner

Being a member of a variety of beauty groups and parenting groups, online, means that I have heard of foot masks/socks, which cause your feet to peel, a number of times. The brand, Footner. got mentioned from time to time and I have to say I was both intrigued and a little unsure.

When I was given the opportunity to trial a set of 'Footner Exfoliating Socks', though, it seemed obvious that I had to give them a go. I walk bare foot a lot, in the house, and my feet aren't in the best shape. Additionally my newer health issues seem to have caused some foot issues so, due to that, I am happy to try anything to improve them, even if it is something a little unusual!

Christmas With Leap Frog! Some fantastic new releases

I always told myself,  before Oliver was born, that I wouldn't get him too many toys. They don't need so many toys when they're little, at least Ethan never did. When Ethan was a baby (almost 7 years ago, eek), he didn't mind toys, he liked them a bit but definitely didn't need as many as he had and that's how I came to make the resolution that I did on Oliver's behalf, before I knew Oliver.
Turns out some babies do need toys, some babies love toys so much that they get incredibly excited every time they get a new toy and they really, really, engage with and play with toys. Oliver is one of these second babies, he just can't get enough of toys. As such an opportunity to trial some of Leapfrog's newest toys, this Christmas, made me very very happy.

H&M Haul - 25% Off Clothing, baby, beauty and home

For Black Friday H&M did a great offer of 25% off and free delivery on all orders. I've really come to love H&M over the past year, or so, and I love picking up bits and bobs for myself and the children when there's a good offer on,or when there's something in particular that we need.

This is a very picture heavy post, so if there's any particular category you'd rather see I'm going in the order of home, beauty, my clothing and then baby clothing. I got some great things and 25% off makes it even more of a good deal than normal.

A Christmas 2016 trip to Homesense

If you feel a bit like you're not quite in the Christmas spirit, yet, but you really want to be then I've got a quick way for you to suddenly feel more Christmassy whilst, also, being able to get some Christmas shopping done - Take a visit to Homesense

We have been to Homesense every year, near Christmas, for the past few years and so much of the store becomes utterly transformed that it's hard to not feel like you've stepped in to a bit of a wonderland. As such, when the lovely people at Homesense asked me to pop in and have a look around, and offered me a voucher to do a bit of shopping, I was very pleased as I definitely felt like I needed an injection of Christmas cheer.

No advent calendar yet? Take a look at the Vintage Cosmetics Company 12 Days advent

It's getting a bit last minute but if you haven't found the right advent calendar for you, yet, then don't worry, all is not lost, there's still time.

There's so many offerings out there that it can be really hard to pick what you want, especially when it comes to beauty calendars, there's just so many of them and so much variety. What if it is full of makeup shades that aren't for you? Or what if it's all skincare for oily skin and you have dry? Or, maybe, you've just not seen the right one yet.

If that's the case then possibly the Vintage Cosmetics Company '12 Days to a beautiful Christmas' advent will work for you. This calendar has 12 doors, rather than 24, so if you don't have it by the 1st then it's ok, you don't have to start it for another couple of weeks! Plus, all of the items are  beauty tools, and accessories, so there's much less chance of something not suiting you, than with other advents.
You can pick the calendar up, still, from their website, here, and it's currently down to £45.50 rather than the previous £65, so you can grab yourself a bargain!

Weleda 'Calendula Baby Top to Toe' Set - A great gift idea

If you have friends, or family, with a baby then you'll undoubtedly have heard 'Well, actually, they have enough toys and clothes so I don't really know what you can get them for Christmas', sometimes you have to think outside of the box when it comes to gift giving when there's a little one in your life with uber organised parents (guilty!).

A chocolate laden gift - 'Merry Little Christmas Hamper' from Hotel Chocolat

It's that time of the year again, the one where I share with you a fantastic gift idea from Hotel Chocolat. I say it every year, I think, but if you have a chocolate lover in your life I can't think of a better place to go gift shopping for them. I recently wanted to treat a friend for her birthday and was thrilled with what I was able to put together for her from the site - You know someone's going to appreciate a gift from Hotel Chocolat because they know it's something extra special!

Cacay Naturals oil - Trialling an exciting new facial oil

My skincare routine has been lacking recently - Since I developed the face rash that I've had, permanently, since mid August I've not wanted to mess with my skin, too much, because I've not wanted to aggrevate it. As time has gone on, though, I've tried out a few basic products and, thus far, nothing seems to make it worse. I still don't know what the rash is but my rheumatologist is ruling some things out and then, possibly, sending me to a dermatologist in order to find out.
Due to my skincare embargo my skin has been super, super dry for a while now so when I was offered a chance to trial the Cacay Naturals oil I jumped at the chance. My skin has always loved oils, even though I found the whole concept a bit confusing to begin with (having areas that tend towards going oily), so this was the perfect opportunity.

Home health testing with Osentia at Superdrug

This is quite an unusual sort of post, for me, but an undoubtedly interesting one. As a sufferer of a number of chronic health conditions anything health related is intriguing and the idea of kits that test you from home are something that really caught my attention.
I was asked if I'd like to trial an Osentia home testing kit, which tests you for your risk of fragility fractures, a strong sign of osteoporosis. I'm not, as it happens, in the high risk category for osteoporosis; people's bones begin to weaken in their mid 30's and then risk increases as women reach the menopause. As such I was pretty sure that my test would give me the all clear, but considering there are so many things wrong with my body at the moment I thought it was a good chance in which to rule something else out!

Win a box of 7 Kapsi Boudier with 31 Dover

If you've seen today's Instagram post then you'll be aware that I was sent a box of Kapsi Boudier recently - These are mini bottles of 'Creme De Cassis De Dijon'. The lovely people over at 31 Dover wanted me to share these on Instagram for them but, also, to run a giveaway for you all and I think you'd have been very disappointed in me if I'd turned down an alcohol giveaway right before Christmas!

This isn't a review so I'm not going to go in to much detail but these are seriously tasty. I'd never tried cassis before but I am now a fan - It's sweet and fruity (blackcurrant, in case you didn't know, I didn't) and mixes rather perfectly with any number of things (though I'd definitely recommend champagne!) and a little goes a long way. The Kapsi Boudier is a brand new way to display and contain the Cassis, these individual little bottles are an ideal serving to go in to a glass of wine or champagne to make a delicious drink. As well as being convenient I, personally, think they look rather chic, it's the sort of thing you'd happily display in a drinks collection or at a party and is a far cry from the original bottles which are all about keeping with the traditional lable and have a seriously vintage look to them now.
If you'd like to win a box of 7 little bottles, all for yourself (or a lucky friend or family member if you decide to gift them, as they'd make a beautiful gift), then all you need to do is enter the rafflecopter below. The only mandatory entry is a blog comment - If you can tell me what your favourite Christmas drink is then I'd be very pleased! Otherwise enter to your hearts content.
- You must be 18 or over to enter the giveaway
- The Giveaway is open to the UK only.
- The winner will be picked, randomly, via Rafflecopter
- There will be one winner
- The winner will have 28 days to respond to my email informing them of the win, if they do not respond another winner will be drawn.
- The winner will need to give me their postal details to pass on to 31 Dover in order to them to send out the prize.
- The winner will win a box of 7 mini bottles of Gabriel Boudier 'Creme de Cassis de Dijon'.
- The giveaway runs until midnight on 28th November 2016.

Christmas with the Teletubbies! New release: 'Tubby Snowball' dvd - Win one of three copies

Oliver loves the Teletubbies. And that's not me projecting my love of something on to him, it's all him, he just loves them. We put them on a while ago to see what he thought and, since then, all he needs to hear is the theme tune or that giggling baby and he's entranced. The Teletubbies have allowed me the chance to use the bathroom in peace, that's how much we appreciate them in this house.

The Simple Candle Company 'Melts Monthly' box for November 2016

I had meant to write about these Simple Candle Company 'Melts Monthly' boxes every month but the best laid plans often don't come to fruition. That's not a reflection on the boxes, though, they've been wonderful to the extent that I've ordered additional melts a good few times (oops!) and my collection is a little bit massive.
Anyway, the November box has been one of my favourites, yet, because there isn't a single scent in there that I'm not excited about. Every single one of them made me happy, probably because there's so many foody scents in there, I am a real lover of foody scents.

Tam Beauty's 'I Heart Makeup' new release - 'I Heart Chocolate and Peaches' eye shadow palette (with swatches)

I haven't had any Tam beauty products to show you for a while so I was very excited when a surprise package arrived today! On my doorstep I discovered the 'I Heart Chocolate and Peaches' pallet by I <3 Makeup - I had no idea it was coming but am thrilled to be able to show you what shades are in there and how nicely they swatch.

A sparkly treat for your feet this Christmas!

I know it's mid November, and there are still those of you out there who are steadfastly denying that Christmas is on the way. But I'm sorry, it really is getting closer and there's no harm in being prepared. Don't hate me but my Christmas shopping is nearly done! Not to fear, though, 'tis the season for bloggers to help you out with gift guides and gift ideas galore!

My November 2016 Birchbox - Unboxing / Review

It's the time of the month that subscription boxes start arriving! I miss getting quite as many as I used to but I just don't need samples upon samples, however fantastic and exciting they are. I am glad I still get Birchbox, though, and do want to get back in to the habit of sharing the contents with you.
If you decide to sign up, yourself, then you can use my referral code which will get both myself and you some points to spend in the birchbox shop! My link is: https://www.birchbox.co.uk/invite/m6bv3

Sweet and gooey fun in a mug - 'Pud in a mug' by Dr Oetker

If you've not heard of mug cakes, yet, where have you been? I've been enjoying russling up a cake in the microwave for some time now, and my goodness aren't they convenient? But, some days, even getting flour and butter out and having to measure stuff is five minutes too long (especially for spoonies!), so in come Dr Oetker with an even easier option.

First impressions and manicure with Sensational

I was sent this Sensationail 'Coral Sunset' starter kit to trial so long ago, I feel awful that it's taken me to long to try it out. Originally it was sent use for a pedicure but, due to some of the new health stuff going on, I'm not in any position to be showing you my feet at the moment (they're rather poorly). As such I spent a lot of time waiting for my feet to get better before giving in and deciding I'd trial it for a manicure instead.

Our October 2016 on Instagram, a look back

We're on the final stretch, 2016 is coming to a close and my goodness it's been quite the 'blink and you miss it' year. I do think having Oliver has caused that, in a big way, they seem to grow up so fast so, of course, that makes the year so fast. That and the fact that I've spent so much of the year waiting for this medical appointment, or that medical appointment, in some ways I've wished the year away and in others I've wanted it to slow down.
October was a nice month, though. No further forward with health stuff but progress in getting ready for Christmas, Oliver's come on amazingly, Ethan's seemed to have calmed down a lot and we've got possible progress with the house getting sorted. Lots of good for the future sort of things. Hopefully November will be more of the same, as well as some actual health answers too (please!).
I've, also, got some great blog posts to share with you over the coming weeks. Some lovely gift ideas, some nice reviews and I want to get my own feelings down a bit more too. So watch this space. If you want to keep in more regular touch, though, the place to go is Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/petitmoi_bigworld/ - I post daily and like to give little snippets of our lives over there. Lots of the kids, and just bits and bobs that make me smile.

The November Treatbox UK unboxing / Review - Shine Like a Star

It's Treat Box time again, a box which I know a lot of you enjoy seeing the contents of. I'm, very regularly, recommending this box to people and when you see what's in it, and what's been in past boxes, I'm pretty sure you'll see why.

The box is £12.99 for a one off box, or less if you subscribe, depending on how long for. I think I have a few months left of my subscription before I have to re-sub, I am already really looking forward to the December box but, for now, the November box is lovely.

This month's theme is stars and sparkles - It's a lovely fit for the month of November when you consider we have bonfire night coming up but, also, night draws in earlier and earlier at this time of years.

These are the two paper elements of the box, this month - I love the colours of the stars on the monthly page and the little poser is lovely. I may use it as part of a Christmas gift this year.

As you can see there's no lacking in stars, or sparkles, in the contents of the box. The first thing I saw were the paper straws with glittery stars on, they are ever so cute and lots of fun. I am thinking they in milk shakes for the children.

I absolutely love the glittery star garland and I'm not sure, yet, if it's going to be a permanent fixture on my bookcase or if I'll save it for Christmas,  to be honest it works either way.

And who's going to say no to some white chocolate sprinkle stars! I haven't eaten them yet but the temptation has been great.

Next up we have two more star related items in the form of a set of wax melts by Simple Candle Company (who I have become a regular customer of since getting one of their wax tarts in a previous Treat Box) and a really pretty constellation design compact mirror.

There was six of these wax melts in the bag, in a delicious smelling caramel scent. And that's what the mirror looks like, it's really nice and very well made.

Lastly there was a tote bag with this beautiful design on it. I love the script and the star pattern and the bag is a really good size. I have lots of tote bags but who doesn't need more; great for popping in you're bag when you're out shopping to use instead of a carrier bag.

And that's the box. Amazingly everything was so so in keeping with the theme! I really like, and will use, everything in the box and I am totally counting down the days until the Christmas box as it's last year's Christmas box that I missed and made me wish I was signed up.

Santa's Surprise Giveaway

Phew, it's November. Can we just take a moment to let that sink in? No-Vem-Ber. I don't think I need to say much because I know so many people are, equally, feeling like this year has been a huge sprint to the finish line, it's been so quick. And, yes, I know it's terribly uncool to point out how fast the year is going, but I'm uncool so there's not much we can do about that.

What is cool, though, (seamless change over I think you'll agree) is giveaways. And I know I already have one collaborative giveaway running (here), but I want to give you the chance to enter another!

My Treatbox Unboxing / Review for October 2016

It's Treatbox time again! Honestly my favourite subscription box around, the Treatbox is a lifestyle/home/accessories sort of box that costs £12.95. I've been subscribing for most of this year using Christmas and birthday money and I won't be surprised if I find myself doing the same thing again once this current subscription runs out. Each month I feel like the boxes become even more well thought out, more refined and that little bit more special.

You can find them here: https://treatboxuk.com/ They don't do a referral code or anything, yet, but I think they should as I'm sure I've been able to persuade some of you to sign up haha.

Instagram Lookback for September 2016

Another month over, unbelievably. It's October and already a whole week of it is gone. My baby is only a couple of weeks away from being 8 months old, I've bought almost all the Christmas presents for both boys (yes you can call me super organised). My neuro appointment is finally this month and my rheumy appointment is finally next month.

Last month was nice. My health stuff was still a pain but I feel like we've begun to turn a corner with some of Ethan's more difficult behaviours, Oliver is an absolute delight (though full of rage because he wants to walk already!) and despite how hard things have been I've been trying to take back some control over my life in the form of organising things better. But that's represented in one of September's lookback photos so enough rambling and here we go.
If you want to keep in touch over on Instagram you can find me: https://www.instagram.com/petitmoi_bigworld/

My Treat Box UK Unboxing / Review - September 2016

I've had my September Treatbox UK for a good few weeks, now, and I was so excited by the contents that I wanted to write about it instantly but, you know, life. I look back at the pictures, though, and am still impressed at how good this month's box is, it's definitely the best one yet.

The Results are... sort of, maybe, not quite in!

Oh now, how funny is that, I thought I should write a quick health update and wondered how long it had been since my last one. Popped over to check and it's a month to the day, talk about timing. I have some more information regarding my neuro stuff, and after the photo is some information about the new condition that may have come to light (I kid you not).

If you read my last health post, here, you'll know I was facing a difficult fork in the road in which I may've had a health issue which was scary but treatable or one which is a little less scary but not treatable. Well I got my blood test results which told me it was the second of the two, still scary but not potentially fatal, but no tablets to help.

How do I feel about that? Pretty numb right now, to be honest. I am seeing my neurologist in a few weeks and I will be running through things with him. I've been informed that it's possible to still have the former condition, with negative blood tests, so I may see what his thoughts are on further testing (it involves needles and electric currents and anyone who knows me knows needles are a big big phobia of mine but if it helps get this all cleared up then I'll do it). So I think I probably have my answer, but I'm going to hold off from explaining more as there's still a chance there's more to go before confirming for sure.

Flower as a filler, isn't it pretty!

So, anyway, yes, I got my blood test results which said I didn't have one of the two neurological conditions. But the tests did show inflammation in my blood which may just have been some sort of infection (even just a mildly infected cut on my hand). A few weeks later, though, I developed a rash, on my face, in the shape of a butterfly. Anyone who knows anything about chronic health knows that that can signify the autoimmune disease, Lupus. I have a whole list of other symptoms which would tally with Lupus, and it would also explain inflammation in my blood.

Hopefully it's just a random rash, but I saw a locum gp who was absolutely fantastic (she really listened, she was ever so caring and really wanted to help) and she said that she thinks it is Lupus too. So, guess what? Yup, waiting for more blood test results!

I am already seeing a rheumatologist in November to discuss some other things so, if blood tests do indicate an autoimmune disease then, hopefully, that appointment can be brought sooner or, if not, I can discuss this with them then. They're going to love me, haha, I already had two things to discuss and now maybe one more.

So  yes. Neuro stuff is partially answered, but also maybe not. For now I am accepting that it's FND but going to nudge for the chance of the further testing, just to put my mind at rest, regarding the MG. And now we're on to the territory of autoimmune diseases. Hopefully my rash is random and my new symptoms could be explained by one of my original conditions but, for now, it's more of the waiting game.

Sorry, bit of a non-update, but another explanation as to why I'm a bit here and there and all over the place at the moment, It's hard to get any real focus when your mind is taken up by all of these maybe's, by things that could potentially be life changing or could be nothing at all (the neurological stuff is definitely something, but the autoimmune could still not be).

I really appreciate the understanding of the friends that I'm a bit absent with. I appreciate the understanding of the companies that I've been trialling products for. And I appreciate all the lovely supportive comments from people, both longer standing friends and readers who I've not come across before.

Thank you

Pink Parcel - Review and Unboxing of the August box

It's September and I'm posting the August box, naughty naughty, I am sorry! In my defence, though, when you see what was in the August box I think you'll be very tempted to try out the September box because you'll be amazed at how much you get.

I have tried out a Pink Parcel box before, but when they asked if I wanted to trial one, to possibly review, I thought it'd be a very good time for it. Post baby the last thing you want to have to stress about is sanitary products, so having a box that sends you your products, as well as some pretty awesome extras, is a really good idea.

When I tried Pink Parcel previously (ooh the alliteration), you could only get tampons which, for me, wasn't ideal but now you can get pads which makes it much more appealing and widens the audience somewhat. And more than just deciding between tampons and towels, you can decide which brands and which absorbancy you want which is a really helpful feature, as one size definitely doesn't fit all when it comes to periods!

'I Heart My Lips' Lip Balms from I Heart Makeup

I feel very bad that I've not shared anything from Freedom, Makeup Revolution or I <3 Makeup with you, for a while, because they used to be one of the main brands I'd share with you all. I love their new releases and still love to see what they bring out, but with the baby and all the health stuff, a lot of posts have fallen behind.

I was very excited to get a package from I <3 Makeup a few weeks ago, though, and even more when I found what was inside.

I'm sure that you'll agree that these 'I <3 My Lips' lip balms are really cute, I love the little bullet shape with the heart on the end. They're, obviously, reminiscent of other lip balms that hold this form but I think they're individual enough that you can see they're from a different brand.

The packaging has a really soft, nice feel to it and they feel like great quality despite only being £2.99 each (or £10 for all 5).

There's a nice range of scents starting with 'Mint Sorbet', 'Blueberry Crush', 'Raspberry Fizz', 'Wild Strawberry' and 'Cool Vanilla'.

I like all of them but my favourite two are, probably, the mint and the raspberry. I really, really, like fake raspberry scents.

You can, definitely, tell what all of them are supposed to be, though, and they all have a nice level of scent to them. I gave the Strawberry one to my 6-year-old as he loves lip balms as he gets dry lips and he loves anything strawberry.

I was pleasantly surprised as how moisturising these were. Low priced lip balms often only have a short term softening result but these really lasted well and left my lips feeling soft for a long time. I like them a lot.

You can get these from the new Tam Beauty website. I think a lot of us were really hoping for a site where you could order Makeup Revolution, I <3 Makeup and Freedom all in the same place and, yay, it's finally here!

Instagram lookback for August 2016

I've meant to do this every month but good intentions and all that. I have been making sure I post daily on Instagram, even when I've not been able to do much more, I love that it helps me stay connected to people and gives little updates when I'm not able to write full posts. You can find my Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/petitmoi_bigworld/

So, with no extra rambling, here's my Instagram lookback for August 2016.

In August Oliver has come on in leaps and bounds: He's getting super vocal and can say 'Dada' and 'MA', he can sit unaided and he's guzzling down food like tomorrow may never happen. |  Books, as always, have been a big part of the month, expect that on all months, books are always important.  |  And, unfortunately, the health stuff has been a big thing too. I've had some half answers but I still have lots of questions and, amazingly, some brand new health stuff has appeared!

I haven't been able to crochet as much as I'd like in August but I have enjoyed the bits and bobs that I've done.  |  I've been trying to remind myself to do things that I love, every day, things for myself and this plaque from my Treat Box helps.  |  Of course August has been a very Ethan centric month, with it still being the Summer Holidays. He's been able to do some lovely things (mostly with other people) and, overall, has had a good break.

More book stuff, of course, this necklace, from my Crime on the Pages box, is one of my favourite bookish accessories.  |  In August I've started trying to improve my handwriting. I can't do handwriting for long, due to hand pain, spasms and weakness, but I want what writing I do to be pretty.  |  And this face, again, because whyever not? I can't believe he's half way towards 7 months already, he's a delight. I am a very lucky Mummy, with both of my boys.

It's a very quick overview of the month, but I like it. It's a nice way to show you a few things without going in to big, long, rambley, depths of information. I have managed to get a few posts up, recently, but as always we shall see how that goes. But, as I said, keep up on Instagram if you want to stay in touch, I'm always there.

August 2016 'Crime on the Pages' - Book subscription box unboxing / Review

This is both a happy and a sad post to be able to share with you. Happy because it shows you what I got in my August 'Crime on the Pages' subscription box but sad because September is going to be the last month. I can't give you my ambassador code to sign up as subscription sign up is closed.

I did want to share with you what I got, though, as I think you'd be interested to see the awesome things included and, hopefully, one day, they'll come back bigger and better and this blog post will be here for someone to search for to see what they're like. I would, ordinarily, have done the post mid August but with knowing that people wouldn't be able to sign up from my post, added to the fact that I have a chest infection, things got a bit delayed.

A quick look at 'Sudocrem: Care and Protect' - A great baby essential

Sudocrem is one of those products which is synonymous with having babies, it's just one of those things, a tradition. I had Sudocrem when Ethan was born but when I got pregnant with Oliver I discovered that they did more than just that magic cream in the pale grey pot - Now there was Sudocrem 'Care and protect'

Back to school with House of Fraser

I, genuinely, can't believe that the summer holidays are almost over. I feel like they've gone in a blink of an eye but they also feel like they've lasted forever. It's been our first holidays with two children and Ethan's been pushing the boundaries, to say the least, but we've also had some lovely days and he's been lucky enough to have been taken away to Devon a couple of times and done some other fun things with his child minder and some family.

Ethan will be going back to his last year at infants school as infant and juniors are separate, here, so after this year he'll be off to another school already! I don't feel ready for him to be in the last year of infants, it's gone so so fast.

However ready I am, or not, of course I do need to make sure that Ethan's things are ready. I've bought a name stamp to label all of his clothes, got new shoes and new uniform, need to get everything washed and ready so that he can go back without a big fuss.

Sometimes, though, it's the little things that we can forget but, thankfully many stores, including House of Fraser, have sales around this time of year in order to make those last bits easier to get hold of. When House of Fraser asked if I would feature some of their back to school items I was happy to try them out and see what they had available.

Sassybloom Box for a 5 month old - Oliver's Subscription box

I was only going to get Oliver a couple of months worth of Sassybloom boxes because he doesn't need more and more toys every month. But every month it arrives and every month we love what's in there and he loves what's in there and I just wonder what next month will contain... yeah.

So here's what he got in his box when he was 5 months old. This was, possibly, my favourite box yet.

My August Melts Monthly Subscription Box - Simple Candle Company

I already warned you that a big part of my Christmas and Birthday money went on subscription boxes so it shouldn't be too big a surprise that I've got another box to share with you already. A new one, for this blog anyway, in the form of 'Melts Monthly' by Simple Candle Company.

I came across this brand when one of their wax melts arrived in my July Treat Box, I instantly loved the Pina Colada scent and the intensity of it told me that these were good quality. I ordered some individual products but also signed up to their subscription service which promises to give customers a chance to get scents early as well as getting a fun surprise every month.

My Treat Box unboxing / Review - August 2016

I got my Treat Box even before August began, this month, but have only just had the chance to put my fingers to the keyboard and get a post written up for you. Treat Box is, still, one of my favourite subscription boxes out there. For £12.95 a month (or less if you sub for more months at once) you get really cute lifestyle, home and general accessory type items which fit a theme and are likely to make you feel a bit warm and fuzzy inside. A really good investment of my birthday money as it still makes me smile, every month, now.

Birchbox UK Unboxing / Review - August 2016

It feels, a bit, like I mostly share subscription boxes with you at the moment and, I think, that's because I mostly share subscription boxes with you at the moment! Why? Well I had money left from both Christmas and my 30th Birthday, most people gave me money, and very little I wanted to buy because when you have a baby you become a bit obsessed with buying them stuff but often forget about yourself. As such, investing in some subscription boxes seemed like a good way to treat myself throughout the year as well as having something to blog about when health is bad but I want some easy posts to write - I love sharing boxes with you all and I love seeing sub box posts so I hope you like reading them too.

If this post tempts you to try out a Birchbox sub then don't forget to use my sign up code which will get us both points to spend in the Birchbox shop (£5 for you and £10 for me): https://www.birchbox.co.uk/invite/m6bv3

The hardest dilemma - What if both options are really rubbish? A chronic health update

So often in our lives we come up against forks in our path. We reach a point at which there are two options ahead of us - Sometimes we can chose which path to take, sometimes we have no choice but to see which path has been decided for us. That can be really tough, waiting to find out the answer to something life changing. But what if both options were pretty flipping awful? What if you hope for one option, but also desperately hope that it's not... and also hope for the other option, but desperately hope not, again?

I've never considered this situation before, why would I without having been in it? It's not something that comes up. But here I am. I'm waiting on some blood tests results, and the tests being positive is bad, and the tests being negative is bad and I genuinely can't work out which is the lesser of two evils.

Brand new Book Subscription box from 'Crime on the Pages' - July 2016 Unboxing / Review and Book giveaway!

Ok, so here's some honesty. I just wrote a 7 paragraph long opener about this post and, then, deleted it because who wants to read 7 paragraphs before they get to the unboxing in a subscription box post. So intro coming up, which contains a money off code and a more brief explanation.
I am absolutely thrilled to be able to introduce you to the brand new, very shiny 'Crime On The Pages' subscription box (July is their first ever box) as I've been hoping for a UK based book subscription box for so so long and was so happy to see one arrive. So much so that I subscribed instantly because I was far too excited and wanted to make sure I got the first box. At a later date, though, I saw that they were looking for a rep and I just had to apply, though thought I had no chance, but what do I know! I paid for this box but as of next month I am the official rep for this fabulous start up brand, and I couldn't be happier.
If you decide to subscribe then you can use the code PETITMOI (until 28th September 2016) to get 5% off your first box/order. Each box will contain a new release crime or thriller novel along with at least two booky bits, as you'll see the box for July was fantastic and very imaginative. There's no spoilers because each month is paid for in advance, so if you subscribe before the 28th July then you'll get August's box, but from 29th July onwards you'll get Septembers box.

Sassybloom box for a 4 month old - Oliver's subscription box

I love subscription boxes, the surprise, the excitement of opening it and finding out what's inside, it's great. As such, when I knew there was baby subscription boxes, in the form of Sassy Bloom, I knew we needed to try it out for a few months. The box is £29.99 but promises that you'll get a value of over £40 so it's a good deal, though because it's pricey we're probably going to get a few months, take a break and then get a few more months when he's a bit older. The boxes are awesome, though.

A subscription like this wouldn't really have suited Ethan as he wasn't the sort of baby that actively played with toys. Oliver, on the other hand, just loves toys. I mean he Really loves toys and he plays with them exactly as they were intended. As such this box has been perfect for him.
