Ok, so here’s some honesty. I just wrote a 7 paragraph long opener about this post and, then, deleted it because who wants to read 7 paragraphs before they get to the unboxing in a subscription box post. So intro coming up, which contains a money off code and a more brief explanation.

I am absolutely thrilled to be able to introduce you to the brand new, very shiny ‘Crime On The Pages‘ subscription box (July is their first ever box) as I’ve been hoping for a UK based book subscription box for so so long and was so happy to see one arrive. So much so that I subscribed instantly because I was far too excited and wanted to make sure I got the first box. At a later date, though, I saw that they were looking for a rep and I just had to apply, though thought I had no chance, but what do I know! I paid for this box but as of next month I am the official rep for this fabulous start up brand, and I couldn’t be happier.

If you decide to subscribe then you can use the code PETITMOI (until 28th September 2016) to get 5% off your first box/order. Each box will contain a new release crime or thriller novel along with at least two booky bits, as you’ll see the box for July was fantastic and very imaginative. There’s no spoilers because each month is paid for in advance, so if you subscribe before the 28th July then you’ll get August’s box, but from 29th July onwards you’ll get Septembers box.

And, if an exciting new book box wasn’t enough, don’t forget to stick around for the book giveaway, at the end, for a hard back copy of Hollie Overton’s ‘Baby Doll’ as I already had a pre-release copy from a few months ago. But anyway, after a slightly shorter ramble, here’s to the box.

Firstly, can I say, how lovely are these personalised notes. And, no, mine isn’t because I’m a rep, we all got a hand written note from the brains behind ‘Crime on the Pages’ and I think that’s a really, lovely detail.
As you’ll have seen, if you read the note, this month’s box contained two books (rather than the standard, one) as a thank you to those who have supported the company in their very first month.
I have to admit there’s something really, rather, lovely about a book wrapped in tissue paper. It made it feel even more special.
This is the book that will be the giveaway item, below, as I already have a copy so I wanted to share the love. This is a hard back and the book is fantastic. It’s not the easiest subject matter in the world but it’s very well written and an intriguing and enthralling story. If you enjoyed ‘The Room’ then this is the book for you.
I haven’t started reading ‘False Hearts’ by Laura Lam, yet, as I am waiting until Ethan goes to Devon as there’ll be a little less work to do and, as such, hopefully a bit more reading time. The book sounds utterly, utterly intriguing though and I feel like this could be one of my books of the year.
I absolutely love the idea of getting a plain, wooden, book mark for us to design ourselves. I have to be honest and say that artistic skill is not mine, but I have a super duper amazingly crafty Mum and she’s going to work her magic on this and surprise me with what she does. If you want to see what she makes of this then don’t forget to follow me over on Instagram:
I, instantly, loved this booky confetti from ‘Very Vintage Boutique’. You can be, absolutely, sure you’ll see this in the background of future photos. I’m considering keeping it scattered in a pretty dish on the side once we have our rooms sorted.
Relaxing with a good book, and a candle, is a favourite of many book worms so this was an obvious choice to go in the box.

But this ‘Crime Fiction Reader’ which was made especially for the box by the lovely lady over at A Hand Made Emporium. It has a cute little book set in to the top and a really lovely, fresh linen scent which I am really looking forward to enjoying once my current candle burns itself out.
And, last, but not least, we have this note book with a William Wordsworth quote on. I like note books, a lot, I like all stationery but note books are one of my favourites. And who doesn’t need a note book laying around, be it for your shopping list, your ‘to be read’ list or to pen your own book. A welcome addition to my, already, over sized collection of note books!
I think you can see why I loved the box. Even without the additional book the items are really nice and I think, especially considering the value of a new release, hard back book, the box is really reasonably priced. I just don’t know how I’ll cope until next month’s box, I already want to know what’s in there! Don’t forget, if you subscribe (here), then you can use my code PETITMOI for 5% off.

I love subscription boxes, the surprise, the excitement of opening it and finding out what’s inside, it’s great. As such, when I knew there was baby subscription boxes, in the form of Sassy Bloom, I knew we needed to try it out for a few months. The box is £29.99 but promises that you’ll get a value of over £40 so it’s a good deal, though because it’s pricey we’re probably going to get a few months, take a break and then get a few more months when he’s a bit older. The boxes are awesome, though.

A subscription like this wouldn’t really have suited Ethan as he wasn’t the sort of baby that actively played with toys. Oliver, on the other hand, just loves toys. I mean he Really loves toys and he plays with them exactly as they were intended. As such this box has been perfect for him.

And here’s what he got in his 4-month-old box! A really nice selection of toys, and some real favourites amongst them.
This is Foxy (we’re original with names). There’s still some debate as to whether or not Foxy is a fox or a mouse but we’ve settled upon fox. The moment I saw him, I loved him, and thankfully Oliver felt much the same way. The company which makes these doesn’t seem to be running any more but Oliver took such a shine to it that we’ve already ordered a second one via Sassy Bloom themselves. If it turns out we don’t need the second then we’re going to keep it nice and safe and it can become a lovely giveaway prize one day. I feel, though, that he’s a firm favourite and we may need the second one.

He Really loves Foxy.
The second item is one that wasn’t as ideal for us as we don’t have a car. It’s absolutely adorable, though, so we’ve passed it on so that someone else can make good use of it.
Next up we have ‘Chewy’. He’s a baby safe, chewable hippo! I mean who doesn’t want a chewable hippo?! He’s very cool and comes with a little wrist attachment to help baby keep hold of him. So so cute.
This is my other favourite item of the box, a teething taggie from the company ‘Taggies’. It’s just like a normal, character taggie blanket but some of the taggie parts of made of a chewable plastic which, I think, is a fantastic idea. I love the duck and the bright polkda dots.
Lastly, but in no way least, is this Nuby ‘Bug a Loop’ teething ring. Oliver’s seemed like he’s been teething for months, already, so this is a very welcome addition to his collection of things to chew on. Though his favourite thing to chew is, still, Mummy, haha!
I think you can see, from this box alone, that the value of these boxes is really good. Obviously there’ll be months where not everything is ideal but, for the most part, the items are very universal and I can imagine there’s a good amount that anyone/anybaby would be able to use. I am, already, looking forward to next month’s box and seeing what fun thing Oliver will have to play with next!

I have a number of posts on the back burner, for you, but I have a nice quick one to share today. I’ve really been enjoying my Treat Box subscription from Not Shabby Very Chic and, again, I’m at the point where I need to decide whether or not to keep my subscription going. There has been the odd month where I only like half of the items, rather than all of them, but there hasn’t, yet, been a month in which I haven’t liked it at all. I really enjoy the boxes and the kinds of items included.

This is what welcomed me when I opened the box, this month, and I thought it was really rather cute! The theme, this month, is Tropical, with a hint of adventure, and you’ll see why as I show you what’s included.
I really like the prints that are included in each month’s box, I have a collection of them which I’m considering putting on our wall once we have our rooms sorted. I really like this month’s, as I like that it could be literal, considering the physical adventures you’ll have, but it can also just allude to the exciting futures that any one of us could have waiting for us.
I, also, really like the little flag. Expect to see that popping up in various photo backgrounds from now on!
There’s almost always something from Sass & Belle in these boxes, and you won’t find me complaining about that, I love Sass & Belle. I really like the wall hanging, from them, that’s included in the July box – I can definitely see it finding a home in our newly decorated rooms.
The ‘You are one in a Melon’ badge is just very very cute. Not to my taste but I can’t help but appreciate the pun and the cuteness.
One of my favourite things in this box is the wax melt which you can see on the top right. Even before I got my box opened I could smell something amazing and I was very pleased when I saw what it was, The melt is in the scent ‘Pina Colada’ and it’s from the company ‘Simple Candle Co’. I love the smell of this so much that I’ve already ordered some more melts from them and signed up to their monthly melt, subscription box! It smells That good!
Lastly, in this picture, is the cute little party bag that was included. It’s Treat Box’ first birthday so they gave us bubbles, confetti and sweeties which I’m sure will put a smile on many a face!
And, to complete both the tropical and adventure themes, we have a pineapple ‘Wish upon a string’ bracelet and a beautiful slogan makeup bag. The pineapple bracelet isn’t much to my taste so expect to see it in a giveaway soon, but I love the makeup bag and will definitely be finding a place for it in my collection of makeup bags (I definitely don’t have too many, nope, no way!).
I am sure you’ll agree that this was a great box. For £12.95 (Or less if you sub for longer), you get a really great selection of things and even if one or two of the things aren’t to your taste I can imagine that there’s something for everyone in these boxes. I, for one, am very happy. Now off to ponder whether or not I should sub again… might not take too long to decide haha.
