When Dr Oetker asked if I wanted to try out some of their ‘Bake in a box’ cake kits I was instantly intrigued – I loved the idea of something so simple which would be useful to most people but, even more so, to someone who’s ill like me and can’t bake like they used to. I really wanted to see if it was as easy to use as it seemed.
It’s been a while since I did a general up date and, if you’re a regular reader, you’ll see it’s been a while since I posted much at all. A lot has been going on, and not all of it great, so I thought it was a good time to do a life update.
I think the obvious starter is in the title – I’m part way through getting divorced. Gosh it seems odd writing that to such a, potentially, wide audience but I feel like it’s necessary especially considering any older readers will have seen posts about the wedding, or even us moving in together. I don’t want to go in to a lot of detail, it’s our business, but it’s been the expected levels of difficult and there’s a long way to go to adapt to life as a single parent again. But family and friends have been utterly wonderful, the kids are worth it all, and there’s an awful lot to look forward to in pretty much every aspect of our lives.
When Prestige offered to send me one of their bouquets of Mother’s Day Flowers I had no hesitation to say yes. For many years I didn’t really understand the desire for cut flowers as they didn’t live long, but over the past year or so I’ve really come to love them and whenever I get the chance to buy some flowers to brighten up the living room I will. Prestige is one of those brands I’ve heard of many times before but not, yet, ordered from and I was intrigued to see what their Mother’s Day flowers range contained – https://www.prestigeflowers.co.uk/mothers-day-flowers
Just a quick one today! Vosene got in touch to ask if I’d like to run a giveaway for them, in the lead up to Christmas, for a couple of bottles of their 2-in-1 shampoo. These may not be the most festive of things to win but they’re a really lovely smelling shampoo, specially designed for kids, that’ll make bath time more fun all year round – And who on earth doesn’t need bath time to be easier?
I wanted to do a Christmas gift guide, this year, that has ideas that cover most types of people in all families. Of course I won’t be able to include everyone (there’s less ideas for men because I really struggle to buy for the men in my life haha) but this is a pretty good all rounder which should, hopefully, be able to inspire people in a variety of ways.
This post contains products that we were sent to try out as well as products I’ve bought myself and really love – I’ll mark anything we were sent with a * for simplicity.
